the singing is supposed to give the lampoon the killswitch engage type feel which it achieves easily...the whole idea of the song is to mock the entire metalcore genre and how easy it is to write their shit...like this song is 1000x better than any killswitch song...

@ScienceOfSkullFuckin the amount of respectable hardcore bands is so slim its hardly even worth talking about. the problem with hardcore is its just simplifying whats already been done. theres ZERO innovation in the genre. the more hardcore elements a band uses, the more they sacrifice their integrity to forcibly fit into a niche.
look at a band like BTBAM. through the years, they became more talented and better musicians as they dropped the tired hardcore sound. hardcore is a disease.

@trig1211 while ill agree there is no true definition, being a legitimate metal fan is just a purity of heart thing. only you truly know whether youre into metal for the music or in it for the scene. so i find it the perfect way to start off cus anyone who is a true fan of anything knows the second their interest is discussed.
cus if you ask me, its pretty easy for me to tell when someones just into the scene and couldnt give two shits about the music.

@trig1211 i think most people tend to know theyre up their asses but like you said, im sure they wont straight up admit it. doing things to be liked by others is more often than not a conscious effort and everyone does it to some degree. there will always be external influences that mold you but that doesnt mean you have to 100% fit that mold, which these posercore kids do, fit a mold.
long discussion short, time is the only way to tell it youre a "true" fan or just following a trend.

i listened to obscura. its nothing like what im talking about. im talking about bands like the dillinger escape plan. id give other examples but there really isnt many people like them. obscura is mostly in either 4 or 8, and the only thing that doesnt fall directly on a beat is the double bass. watch chris pennies drum solo and i think youll understand more wht im talking about.
