How stupid was Russo? Wouldn't it have made more sense to have made the New Blood face and the old nWo guys heel? I mean, at this point, WCW needed to push the younger guys, they were already late in the game yet the entire direction he led the company was ass backwards. And this is coming from someone who thinks 2000 and 2001 WCW was still better then the garbage WWE puts on today. WCW could have been saved, I know the AOL/Time Warner merger was one of if not the main cause, maybe I'm in denial

While they were in a pretty bad downward spiral 1999-2001, it seems like a lot could have been done. They certainly had the established main eventers and nothing but young, promising talent to push... Probably would have still been bought out eventually, but they could have done something to turn the company around, even if it was just for 2 or 3 more years.

The only to get younger guys noticed is to have them do over-the-top type of stuff, and the heel role fits that mold. But they quit on the storyline too quickly. They never let it breathe - they thought they could use quick fixes and it s what killed the company.
