Fripp is incredible. His League of Crafty Guitarists albums are insane. Theres tons of incredible guitarists, Buckethead, Mattias Eklundh, Rusty Cooley, Jason Becker. But Satriani, Vai, and Petrucci are the top dogs. Its a fact. Its a "Conspiracy of Three", not a million. Those 3 guys from Long Island are unfuckingtouchable.

Are all of you serious? Don't be so pissy. Just enjoy the music. Robert Fripp is an amazing guitarist, and one of my favorites, but who's to say that JS can't 'hold a candle'. Maybe you should actually listen to his music before being a judgemental prick.

Joe Satriani cannot hold a candle to players like Joe Pass, John McLaughlin, Robert Fripp, among others. He's just a poppy shredder who got famous for playing "exotic" solos over boring chord progressions and doing that pinch harmonic dive bomb thing he forces into every track.
