    Fender Jazzmaster

Thurston Moore and Lee Ranaldo. Jazz master guitars slung across seminal shoulders. In the hands of both men, the sound of Sonic Youth is the sound of that guitar used as part paintbrush and part cluster bomb. If anybody ought to have a signature Jazz master model, it's those two guys. Done. Fender's Thurston Moore Jazz ...

  • YES! always wanted to do this.... just need the equipment :/ ...

  • make a fuking record man!!! >.<

  • Yo Bro! just listened to your band on myspace. You guys are damn good!!! I'm a big mogwai fan and i just couldn't stop do compare your sound with them. SO KEEP UP!!!

  • What's the buzz stop do? (dumb question I'm sure)

Thought they were mainly used on bass guitars?

  • Ok, i'm not really 'good' with guitar gear ..

i REALLY want a loop pedal,

but the price is so high, so i don't want to buy crap

The Boss Rc-30 i can buy,

should I , or does annyone recommends something else ?

  • @qotsa007 You can buy a Boss DD-7. It's Boss's newest delay model and it comes with a loop mode. You can stack as many loops as you want. It cost $179 which a lot cheaper than the RC-30. Also, this way you get two pedals in one.

  • @qotsa007 yes, it's very good

  • Great loop man! Check out my looping video and let me know what you think.

  • Lovely echo effect. You go, man :)

  • Reminded me of Isis!!!

  • chords ?

  • Love it! how do you like the blues junior? I was chossing between it and a vox valvetronix and went with the vox because of price and stuff. Im kinda regretting it

  • Is that Jazzy AVRI?

  • Awesome! That jazzmaster seems really nice, let's it trade for my strat!

  • ahh mega man 3 theme, thats it. so dope, very cool guitar

  • anyone else thinks this sounds a tad bit like my curse?

  • @highlander5939 Line 6 DL4 :)

  • what kind of looper is that, I love it!

  • @96JaaFoX69 Line 6 DL4 :)

  • @niceone63 thanks, its sweeeeet!

  • cool

  • Transcendental. Excellent. Thank you.

  • Very nice! I like your sound! :)

  • Hi! Nice one mate! Watch mine : watch?v=b_vb0Ebmixs

  • sounds like something explosions of the sky would do. well done man

  • nice dude, keep it up!

  • NICE, man. that sounded REALLY good. I LOVE your style. keep it up man! You've officially inspired me :)

  • good stuff, bro! I use the DL4 and the Boss RC20, but will prob. get the newest Boomerang phase lll soon.

  • beautifully done

  • Fucking good sound in that amp! Are you happy with it?

  • sounds like mogwai

  • Reminds me of Rusted Wheel by Silversun Pickups.

  • have you any tabs for this ? :)

  • nice tone man

  • nicely done, amigo ;-) got any records already?

  • Very nice layering- I have the same axe, love it. I'm now considering a Fender amp (I currently have a 70's Music Man HD210). But something about the Blues Deluxe sounds sweet.

  • Almost reminds me of a Silent Hill soundtrack piece by Yamaoka with the wah wah + reverb/delay effects in there

  • Dude this is sick. I really like your sound, great guitar too. nice job bro

  • great job!!

  • hi this is great!!

what is the piece of music?? did you write yourself or does it already exist??

    thanks

  • Imagine a lead guitarist playing Fender Jazzmaster and Rhythm playing Tele. That would be orgasmic...

  • fucking awesome man, I need a looping pedal now..

  • Great! Wonderful sound and melody! Your jazzmaster is a dream..

  • what vox wah do you have ?

  • @jhump2431 no idea - but its very heavy and not true bypass. Hope that helps!

  • @jhump2431 very likely to be a V847

  • @fend14 Dang I was hoping for a 848 I really want another one.

  • Very nice work, amazing sound.

  • what year is your JM? Nice tune.

    Thx!

  • Is so beautiful ! (L)

    a hug from argentina =)

  • Really ace, nice work

  • Do you have a buzz stop on your guitar? It seems to look that way but I can't tell for sure. Thanks.

  • Yup, sure do. Got a mustang bridge on there as well. It all works a treat!

  • Would I sound ok with 11 gauge or too much tension i not too good around this area

  • Would work just fine with 11's

  • Feels a bit like Explosions In The Sky.

  • That sounds really good dude..Should have kept going!!

  • I am stupidly jealous of your rig. Hopefully be making my own version of a Jazzmaster in tech A level next year. What Looper are you using? Or is there one on the DL4?

  • Hes using the looper feature on the DL4! 14 seconds...but if the 1/2 speed is pressed before recording, its 28 secs of looping

  • man you have to listeng to WILCO! its sounds very similar!!!!!!!

  • REALLY AMAZING MAN!!! GOOD WORK!!! y like te sound of your fender!!!

  • very nice:) i love that sound of your jazzmaster:)

  • Hey man, that was fucking lovely!

    Have you made it yourself?

    Cudos to you my man!

  • Wo!!! dude amazing, shows us more but more importantly teach uses something

  • Wow! I'm impressed! Keep going, awesome loop.

I chucking love Jazzmasters. And I could do with a Blues Deluxe if I ever get rid of the old Marshall :p

  • this is so awesome, best looper video on youtube

  • more more more please!

  • FUCK i fucking love Jazzmasters...sounds fucking great, man.

  • Very nice man 5 stars

  • hey how would you say your jazzmaster compares to your sg?

  • The jazzmaster and sg couldn't be more different, everything from the body and neck to the pickups and bridge. In a nutshell the sg has a thicker sound and is ideal for 'heavier' music. With a jazzmaster you can get anything from a thin trebly bite to a warmer jazzy tone.

  • Hey josh, you have really great vids, do you have a band or a myspace I could follow up?

Anyway post so more vids it is always a pleasure to see what you do guys. Cheers

  • It sounds a lot Sonic Youth, so it's brilliant!! Nice tone and sound..

  • are you using the effects loop on the amp?

  • No , all pedals are in-line between the guitar and amp

  • Nice !

  • Nice demo :)

  • I do something kinda similar in a video with my Jazzmaster, but in a Fripp style.

  • your tone is godly, and the looping was too

    5/5 and faved

  • Typical, i was expecting crap. However, that was not what i received. You might like some of my loops they have are more minimalist but with some post rock influence.

  • the fender jazzmaster is an incredible instrument.

  • Wow. That's beautiful.

  • how do you get it to record? what kinda pedal is that?

  • its a Line 6 DL-4

  • can that recording be uploaded to a comp of sorts?

  • not straight from that pedal no.

  • oh that's one hell of a way to piss me off....

  • great

  • great. 5*

  • this is like straight up red sparowes or GY!BE.

    i love it.

  • Nice board man! The Proco Rat is great when stacked with other distortion/fuzz/overdrive pedals. I was just curious if you had experimented with that. Thanks.

  • man this is cool! is this a song or do you have any tabs cous i wanna play this so bad:P

  • I don't know much theory so wouldn't know where to begin writing out tab for this (plus it was an improvisation). If I remember correctly it was in drop D tuning - hope that helps!

  • awesome video!

but, the electro harmonix small stone (instead of mxr phase 90) would fit better in this jam (the small stone is trippy as hell)

  • hi.. ihave the same amp,, do you think it can handle lots of pedals, im also in ambient rock and shoegaze, so im gonna need a lot of pedals..thnks

  • do you play for anybody?

  • sound's great !!!

I like the way you play

  • Love the postrock / shoegaze improv jam man...love this music man ...good job...check out my vids..gimme some constructive comments..thanks man...

  • cool stuff and sound

  • pretty cool, man : )

  • thats nice, i absolutely love what jazzmasters are capable of

  • awesome sounds really sweet keep up the good work.. i have 2 more to ask tho :) the DL4 is it true bypass and wat dya used for your pedal board

  • Yes the DL4 is true bypass, they're great pedals, quite expensive but worth every penny. The pedal board in this video is made by warwick, but I've just upgraded to a diago pedal board and power supply - this is much better!

  • good stuff diggin it..wat pedal did u used for the loop?

  • I used the DL4, it's good but when looping I find there is a slight dip in volume.

  • this one also has the problem with the bridge?? like the jagar?

    thx

  • Yes the jazzmaster does has the same bridge problems as the jaguar, but you can solve these problems by fitting a mustang bridge and a buzz-stop. I've made both these changes and it has completely solved the problem!

  • yeah , im a little lazy in those aspects

  • Comment removed

  • Shoegaze for days.......

  • Hi, love the tones! How do you like the Bluebird Tremolo? Is it transperant in your chain?

  • Thanks! The bluebird is really great analogue sounding tremolo, it's also completely noiseless and has a really handy boost feature. Sounds pretty transparent to me!

  • I like it,

  • oh right don't worry its a vox wah just read aha. nice vid though.

  • at 2:30 what wah-wah are you using? its sounds amazing, like the sort john frusciante would use in his red hot chili pepper solo's.

  • Excellent.

  • amazing!

  • hey dude, i just want to get a jazzmaster or a jaguar; but i still dont know wich one.... thats yours couldnt be the reissue of 62, because thats a USA one... ; what do u think about the classic player jazzmaster, made in mexico ??...

    tnx. awesome playing yours...

  • I've had the american 62 RI and now I have the classic player and i would have to say that I like it even better. It fixes any of the annoyances of the traditional jazzmaster yet retains it's character. I'm on the fence as to whether or not I will swap out the pickups. I thought for sure I would but now I don't know. I like them well enough.

Good playing by this guy, eh?

  • Pink Floydish (Gilmourish). Very good.

  • Looks like it started off as Olympic White and turned into an aged vintage white unless I'm wrong and it's just the lighting of the video.

  • Very nice! Very ambient and relaxing!

  • Nice JM what year is that one? What strings do you have on it, flats or rounds?

  • Not sure what year, but i do know its a 90's Jap reissue. Am using rounds (10's).
