@SketchyProducti0ns i made 60km that day but i was running off fumes by the end of it. Thats pretty much the 150's limit. But that was a pretty laid-back trail ride, if you're racing u might get 40km. The tank wouldn't get me through a 2 hour harescramble

A 2002 YZ250 (48hp) is faster in a straight line than a 09 YZ250 (45hp)

The frame and suspension on the YZ250 is almost 10 years old. They added a slightly lighter alloy frame in 05 and in 09 fitted some of the internal parts off a 07 250F to the front suspension.

Look at it...does it look like a 09 250F?

Why dont they mount a YZ250 motor in a YZ250F frame?

I would still rather have the 09 YZ250

A YZ250 in 2002 did 48hp

rm250x is 4 stroke... the plain rm250 is the 2 stroke. i own both 4 stroke and 2 stroke. and one thing will always be true, a 2 stroke has a hell of a top end and powerband, but lower end a 4 stroke wins. that's why 2 strokes win races, better top end for higher speed.

The most important part of a MX bike is suspension - MORE THAN HP

Get a modern bike!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! = Modern suspension.

Make sure its as light as possible, Good suspension, brakes and last on the list = HP

Enduro / Trail is all of the above + make damb sure it has torque

LOW RUNNING COSTS IS ALSO A GOOD IDEA!!!!!!!!!!!

All of this sounds like a 200, 250 or 300 KTM - Trail / Enduro / Woods

MX = YZ KAWASAKI KTM SUZUKI in my opinion

I own a CRF (08) Thats a bit odd as I dislike Honda - It is a good bike!!!

Just has a fragile motor - GREAT FRAME, BRAKES, MOTOR PULLS WELL, and GREAT SUSPENSION!!!!

The reason I leave Honda off the list is that they caused the 2 stroke to be banned in MX - but gave modern 4T a go anyway

The CRF I have has NO resale value & NO TRADE-IN value

I have to agree with you there. My CRF150RB trail-bike takes a beating every weekend and has done so for the past year and a half. I have not changed A THING. No top end like everyone bitches about. No bent anything. Starts right up and runs perfect every time I go out. High maintenance cost? BULLSHIT. My Buddy's 200XC kills itself once every two months. THAT'S expensive. It just goes to show ya, a bike is only as reliable as it's owner.

Honda had nothing to do with that. I cannot stand when people make things up. As everyone knows, two stroke engines are far more polluting then that of a four stroke. Because of this, environmentalists and government agencies are to blame for the 2t to be ruled out of many forms of competition.

yeah dylan I think you are thinking of the 150F. This is a 150R, the race model. My friend has a 230 and my 150 is quite a bit more powerful than his.

Neither the 85 or the 105 will ever break

Because the 150R makes less hp does not mean its slower than a 85 - it has a wider spread of power than a 85. It IS slower than a 105sx!!!!

BIGGER 2 STROKES MAKE HP EVERYWHERE - 250XC = The #1 Choice and the ULTIMATE TRAIL / ENDURO WEAPON Good choice Alacoque but why not a 200 at 95kg

PS: The 150R does have a VERY FRAGILE SOFT motor
