  • WOW what a revelation this lesson was. I have purchased severaal courses on playing by ear and not one showed this easy method to figure out the chord order. Thank you so much

  • ear players looks like for me ,captain who doesn't have map and compass in open ocean, they can go but they dont know where they going.Players with note who has map and compass..:))

  • Thanks you for uploding.I am learning by note.I like what is your teaching. It's opening my horizon .You're one of the best in youtube..

  • Thanks for the explaination. I can go either as an ear player or read the notes, one thing I do, is if I know the melody note, but not the chord, I just put my middle finger on the note (an octave down) and then drop my pinky and thumb, and I know it harmonizes. Since its a third and sixth to the melody note. Your videos are very informitive.

  • Yeah, when I start to try to use my brain, I can't play.lol

  • Where this class at?

  • she's good

  • could you tell me when the note is on a sharp or flat then how to skip. thanks

  • @tommy19549961 If you play in C, you don't have that issue.

  • This is an extra dimension to playing. Wow!

  • I'm an ear player, and I don't do this. I understand the concept, but to be honest I've never had to think about it, i just know what chord comes next, what interval to move to etc

  • All of the people who play by ear exclusively have a great gift. One of my friends plays by ear and hasn't the slightest idea what chords he is playing. Gregg Isett, the other half of this teaching combo, took lessons for 7 years before he ever saw a note of music.....he was learning to accompany silent movies. This video is for the note readers so that they can expand their horizons and play by ear. Thanks for your input.

  • This lesson blows me away. This must be the best kept secret when playing by ear. Now it's out. Thank you, Karen. you are great!

  • Karen, You are beautiful as well as very talented. I want to pop over from Scotland, wearing my kilt, and sweep you off your feet. We can be away before your husband knows we are away. I am 67

going on 18, and fell in love with you the moment I subscribed to your videos. It is difficult concentrating on your theory lessons but you are one great big dollop of eye candy,so constant repetition is a delight. With love in Valentines week.
