I wanted to add to my previous comments that examples of this item are ULTRA rare and were probably personally given out by Herb Caen to friends. How and where did you obtain this?
I would like to find out more about R.W. Emerson, who set up shop in SF years ago! Nice graphics on the cover, too!
It is amazing to see this recording posted to YouTube! I also own a copy. And I have some other recorded material by R.W. Emerson, one being 1 2-track STEREO recording of San Francisco sounds, distributed in 1960 by Ampex at a local convension in SF. As far as I know, the item you found and transcribed is not from as early as 1950. It is more likely from about 1957-58. Most of these recordings were made using wonderful gear in that era.
