Back in the darks days of the 2000/01 season almost a disaster for the club I remember it well. The team that year was stinking rotton and off course this is post match to an absolute 4 - 0 hammering we recieved from Hearts at home. How the tides have turned. The club had eddie thompson ok great guy they say thompson was a legendbut no other person in the history of Dundee United delivered what Jim brought to the club and thats a championship and Cup wins and many memorable nights in europe...eddie done well but not anything like our Jim and nothing will ever change that...Jim IS the UNITED legend and NO ONE SHOULD EVER FORGET THAT.

Yes. He deserves recognition and a stand named in his honour for what he achieved, and for his loyalty to the club over all those years. As sorry as people are for Eddie Thompson's illness, Jim should've had a stand named after him long before Eddie.
