Well ive had mine for about 2 months now..getting ready to try to have a grid printed on clear stuff at staples and I'm pretty nrevous about installing it..i've done paper grids and tried clear non permant covers..just does not work got to do a interior install of a grid..its almost essentiel for playing it seems

why you all gotta hate on this guy - he rocks this box unlike anyone else. I own a KP, the FX unit, a KP pro, and even a KPE (cause im really just a VJ)... the stuff he is doing here is DIFFICULT. if anything the kaosspad is harder to use this way than an actual synth - because it doesnt drive like one. Hence why hes using that stylus to hit notes definitively. KUDOS PSYCHOPATH!!!

@MysticalMuffinDude Hello. I've actually got the Kaoss Pad 3 and have made quite a few videos using it. I don't intend to get the Kaossilator Pro simply because having the sample banks on the Kaoss Pad 3 makes them sort of obsolete and therefore not worth it, in my opinion.

Where can I find a Kaossilator with that type of screen. I've been searching for it but all i can find is the all black screen. Any help would be appreciated.

@HotJewishBoy you can't buy one like it. Those are custom modifications. If you google "custom kaossilator screen" you will find a list of complicated instructions on how to void your warranty by taking apart your kaossilator and modifying it. If voiding your warranty doesn't sound like fun to you, I recommend instead buying some cell phone/iPod screen protectors, forming the grid on your PC via the measurements given in the other instructions and print on screen protector - no voided warr.

I also wanted to add, the pogo sketch is a popular iphone stylus made for dragging and swiping... anyway I thought for sure it would be excellent on the kaossilator, but it turned out to be trash for anything but an iphone. If anyone else had the same idea, dont bother.

Wow, this is the best video I've seen with these Korg products. You made a routine and got it down to do it live. That's the way to do it. I have a KP3 and I can't hit notes like that consistently.

I actually installed the grid myself. It's easily done. Just search for Kgridmod and you'll find an instructional video on how to do it. It's a really good idea to be honest. Korg should have though of it.

I just wanted to ask what the pen thing you're using is? Just had a look on ebay for "stylus" and got loads of results for DS stylus' which look too pointy. whereas yours has a nice rounded end which doesnt look like it would damage the touchpad.

Yes, indeed I am! It's the best best thing about Kaossilator that a lot of people don't realise. It's called Dly mode, and it's accessed by holding down the tempo and loop buttons (I think those two... check other youtube vids if it doesn't work) when turning on the Kaossilator. You lose the fix function, but get 8 extra beats and any cutting you do is recorded. Have fun.

Admittedly, it takes a lot of gos to get it perfect, especially when you can't undo mistakes. But it's a LOT easier with the mod. Almost impossible without.
