Nice one there Drew! Yes, 1978 was the first year for the 2nd gen. It was actually at the end of 1978 that the 2nd gen came out. According to erik92da (Erik B. at the DT forums), they released this generation early to kind of get ready for the 1979 year. Spatsbear, as you may know, has a K-223 from October of 1978. I'm pretty sure it was September 0f 1978 that the
2nd gens came out, making most of 1978 the last year for 1st gen Lakewoods.
Thoes 2nd gen S-223's are rare because they were only produced for one year.

@locohog91 Weren't the "S" series of the 2nd gen only made for one year? I haven't seen a 2nd gen S-223 from any other year but 1978.
