George Lynch is an amazing player and I agree with the comment made about him being true to what he feels and wants to play. That is a sign of a true artist.
I love George because he is true to what he feels and wants to play. Like many great players you can always tell it's him by his sound and his signature bends and start/stop style.
Dislike? Really? is that because you are so much better? idiots!
@nik28vuksan In the 'George lynch in his home studio' vid in the list of related videos, he says that it is a linhoff tele. It has ESP on the headstock, and I would assume it is an ESP custom. Swamp ash body, and duncan's custom wound by George.
For those who can't comprehend actual music and how George is expressing what is inside, where are your recordings and do you have a recording history and a loyal following. Learn, grow, experiment, and be musically expressive.
omg this is nuts, i had the exact same t-shirt, i saw it in a israeli second hand shop and thoght it was funny, i forgot it somewhere in a third world country im fking pissed now its georges t shirt and i dont have it FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
I think that a lot of the new shredders out there should cut on the sweeping, and take notes from George regarding note choices, vibrato, and attitude in playing.
I think it should feel weird to play so far away fromyour amp.. especially when the amp stands in the opposite direction. .. you hit the note here and the sound came from far away :)
George is the man...... goes to show you that old school blues and rock mixed with some tasteful shredding and solid rhythm rules.. eat your hearts out death metal fans.... it doesn't get better than this...
I cannot stop watching George on this clip, The beginning you hear him playing, and not the backing track music he is listening too . Then at 1:34 you hear the full track, and you can see how deadly precise he is when you piece it together. George has it down!! Man can this Guy fucking wail. He can do it all as far as I'm convinced, and (on a good ole Fender USA TELE maple neck. BTW, did anyone see the George Lynch personally owned Tele for sale on E-Bay?(A lot of money fer sure) 10/6/10
LYNCH RULES MR. SCARY in the DESERT on a TELE . This is unconventional for mostr Shredders, cause the Tele Bridge pick ups resistance is around 7.5ks. The Screamin Desmon(Syemour)(Georges Signature pick up) is approx. 10.8 ks paf like. Still, what cool about lower resistance pick ups is the fact that it is a lot more transparent, and his Guitars tone, and finger nuances are expressed in a very dynamic way. Excellent TONE George you are the MAN!!
George never fagged out like Eddie did after the first Van Hagar album. Lynch has rocked since and made music........Eddie has done nothing....George is top 5 all time.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
So, George probably lives in the desert because he loves the wildlife and natural beauty. Then he takes a bunch of amps outside and absolutely scares the shit out of every animal for miles. Probably completely disrupts their natural feeding and breeding cycles. Most desert animals sleep in the hot daytime, and hunt at night. Not when George is around!
Hey George, have some respect for the place you live, and animals that really life there. You're a guest in their environment, act like it.
Yeah, and the exhaust from your car pollutes the air you and animals breathe. The consumer products that you use every day are manufactured by companies that buy and destroy animal habitat, pollute our rivers and lakes. Not to mention, your garbage is dumped in areas that destroy and disrupt a lot more animal habitat than George does playing his guitar. Don't be a hypocrite. It is very unattractive and makes you look ignominious.
I've met Mr. Lynch twice. He actually played on my guitar at a bar that I was playing in. Then he invited my band to the Monsters of Rock show and I was lucky enough to get backstage and hang out next to his guitar tech at stage left during Dokken's set. He never ceases to amaze me. Incredible chops and phrasing!
This is the real George Lynch. Accurate and clean, with intense feel, a nice dose of darkness and evil occasionally, and innovative playing characterized by his use of intervals, legato technique, harmonics, vibrato, tone and picking. His songwriting does seem a bit restrictive of his playing at times. Maybe bad habits carried over from his Dokken days.
I wouldn't go so far as saying that he plays with no feeling, but he is definitely a more technically oriented guitarist. But depending on the mood I'm in it's a nice and refreshing change.
Very cool to see him playing a Telecaster too.
And his set up out in the middle of the desert is pretty fuckin awesome too.
anything but stiff man - listen to EVH, Demartini, and Lynch their playing swings and always has a sexy rhythm underneath - and is tied to the blues in some way.
Dude, you have got to be kidding? If you don't feel anything from that maybe it's you who doesn't have a soul. In fact, the only one I see acting like they're the shit is you. No offense.
Love watching videos like this. George is still one of the most amazing guitarists out there, and I can't wait to hear the new album. Already reminding me of the old Lynch Mob recordings.

I disagree. Maybe if you've scooped out all of the mids on your tone with high output pickups with the super compressed gain cranked and some compression. George seems to have an od pedel with VERY low output pickups on a tele style guitar, pretty beefy necks on those compared to the shred sticks out there. Not a very gainy sound anyway. I don't get the slammin' on george, he's a humble dude who just loves to play, and play well he does. Effect aren't gonna play that for you, sorry.
i agree. i was just commenting on another member. back in the day, guitarists used to puncture holes in the speakers to get the dirty sound. I THINK GEORGE IS THE BEST HARD ROKK GUITARIST OUT THERE TODAY!
You naysayers are clueless man. george was set apart from the other 80's guitar players with his incomparable vibrato...and he does that with his hands not effects...if i want to hear a stack of rack mount equipment and scales ill listen to Vai or alot of those other guys...there not even close....
I agree with you on Lynch - Reb Beach and Lynch are two of my favs from the 80's. But I disagree on your views regarding Vai: he is a phenom of a player whose physical ability is matched by his musical intellect. His gear is irrelevant, he makes great music with it.
I agree. It's not like Lynch just shreds through scale sequences and arpeggios - In a way - He IS playing the Blues...with wacked out intervals and a high level of technical proficiency.
