I absolutely love this song slowed down. The lyrics are incredibly beautiful and powerful, and I never heard them in the original version. As a ballad, i have time to hear the words, let them wash over me, and really understand what's being said.
Yes, Brian & Roger have both tried their hand at lead singing, something they probably always secretly wanted to do when Freddie was alive, even though they sang backup vocals. If truth be said, I think they have both realized that their roles in Queen, Brian as guitarist and Roger as drummer is probably their finest hour, because they were exactly where they were meant to be, makingbeautiful music with the best vocalist & frontman of all time, Freddie Mercury! Nothing gets better than Queen!
@MsSweetunes Well i agree but Brian May has always sung. He sang before Queen and he sang some queen songs even when freddie was alive. freddie didnt sing all of them. And i agree that Freddie was the best frontman but in my opinion Brian May could have been one hell of a frontman, he has many many talents musically. Hes great
@MsSweetunes Freddie was a marvelous singer and songwriter. But Roger and Brian were both marvelous songwriters and singers as well. They made many songs on which they sang lead vocals- some of which sounded better then when Freddie sang them live like "39" and "Modern Times Rock n Roll." "More of That Jazz" is a great example of Roger hitting notes Freddie could only dream of hitting when he was younger. His range if anyones blew the others out of the water. My point is they were all integral.
Brian and his Red special are in perfect harmony. The sound Brian creates is just unique no other guitar sounds like it. Brian is a master of the guitar and hes got a great voice. Is there anything this legendary guitar God can't do? Keep us Rocking Brian!!!
Cozy died in April '98. He is one of those absent friends, next to Freddie, of course. A long bow in front of Brian, because he carries further the excellent music of Queen.
I love pretty much every version of Hammer to fall, but prefer Live versions of it best. anyone know where to get footage of the Another World tour? been looking for ages and cant find any
I like both versons but this slow one suit Brians voice very well. I don´t mean to be disrespectful but I think a Queensong should be performed vocaly either by Freddie or by Brian and / or Roger.
A very intelligent and nice guy who didn´t need a mask of a clown or a diva in the public and performances. He was so sure of his talents that he didn´t need anything but to play guitar in a way which is one of the most brilliant ever.
Oh my god...this makes me cry...brian you are perfect. LOVE YOU

Freddie was one of his best friends. Everytime Brian sings you can tell he's singing for him.

"Les amis qui ne sont plus avec nous..."
Il a bien prononcé cette phrase!

@LynahLi Je ne sais pas si Brian voulait parler des amis qui sont décédés ou bien des amis qui n'étais pas présent au spectacle.
