  • You must live in a different climate than I do. This video was shot in the winter when it's too cold to wear short sleeves, even in the garage. 40 degrees is the coldest these worms can handle, so the garage gets iffy at times. They'd never survive our winters outdoors, even in the ground. Earthworms may do fine, but red worms wouldn't.

  • My only criticism is that I wouldn't wear any long sleeves when doing this. :-/

  • I have found to get rid of the fruit flies, keep the worm farm covered with a piece of dampened cardboard. Pull it back when you feed and then replace it, making sure the entire surface is covered. You can use newspaper instead, but I find that the newspaper isn't as sturdy. I don't put my food in a blender either, having smaller pieces works fine for me. I no longer put in citrus or onions. They don't care for it and often it just rots, causing the smell you are getting, adding paper is great.

  • I enjoyed your video. Worms are a great way to compost.
