Rightside is one of the most important positions on the court. Be really physical, you have to hold up the attack from the power hitter .. Where the majority of the balls are set. Also your hitting is very important, if you setter only sets Middles n powers thhen the blockers will start cheating out an. Make it harder for ur team to get points... And when it comes to back row..you can be a star, backrow rightside hits are the best !
I'm a right side blocker/hitter for a high school team and I feel as if I am a court ornament. I run around to the correct places when middle and left side are being attacked, but otherwise *sigh*. Is there anything I could do to become more proactive and make myself more valuable to the team?
hey there, im an ex OH but now im gonna switch to RS, ive thought about it, and a RS is more important than an OH in that 1. no one expects a spike from the right side 2. Most opponent spikes come from OH position, so you are key blocker to stop their offense

@Sallar21 Thanks! You are absolutely right regarding the blocking and the unknown spike (If only my setters could set a decent 9)
