@andymcguitar haha cool...that has a great smooth sound, i was trying a RG350 yesterday trough an Ibanez amp and it was so damm Metal, but it has a great bodyweight and neck though. I was thinking how much i have to spend to have a RG350 customized and how will it sound like, well, one question solved =P...how much it's the second question, i think i'll keep standing for Steinberger...thanks for the answer, keep the great work!

Gahhhhhhhhhhhh! Kill me!!!!!! Great job, Andy - but this "tune" is so fucking aimless I can barely stand it. Sometimes I wonder if Holdsworth is just pulling everybody's leg and playing random shit to test the limits of those who worship him. I mean, this "song" just....sucks. All right - now send me the hate mail; it isn't going to change my opinion, though...

@beeroosterm everyone is allowed their opinion. so you don't like the tune. I happen to love it and find it very musical. I know for a fact that many many other Holdsworth fans feel the same. Music is subjective. There is no good or bad music. Only different tastes.

@beeroosterm Really? Exercise? Post a vid that you can do anything remotely like this, then we will talk. I just saw Allan on Wed, and was talking with him for a bit. Didn't see any exercises that night at all. Deeply emotional playing at it's finest.

@MrGuitardudeism It's not a matter of being able to play what Holdsworth does; and I'm certain he's a fine fellow. And I don't question his "emotional playing". What I do question and state unequivocally (and by the way, I have a right to my own opinions here, folks) is that his music is fucking boring. It is unmelodic to the extreme and does not strike me in any manner as anything other than something that is very difficult to play. I admire his amazing chops but hate what comes of his playing

There are many artists on youtube who I don't enjoy. I don't waste my time commenting their videos about how they are boring and unmusical though. It is a sports attitude of extreme competition. music is not and should not be like that

If you don't like the song, or AH for that matter, what makes you think a cover is going to be any better? Saying this song is boring, unmelodic and sounds more like a practise exercise, is criticising the song, poorly and baselessly I might add... I'm sure Allan will be chuffed to hear your detailed, constructive criticism.

@beeroosterm I love the way you say you have a right to your own opinions and then go on to state a bunch of a shit like it's objective. I find that the way he fluidly outlines the notes of chords, creates massive tension with "outside" notes and resolves them in the most beautiful way possible is unmatched by any guitar player. Go listen to Steve Vai or EVH regurgitate the same shit over and over again.

@rexasul But my opinion is objective. To me, this song is boring, unmelodic, and smacks more of a practice exercise than of thoughtful playing. And your provocative comment about Steve Vai (who is a great fan of Holdsworth) and EVH doesn't sting. That said, I saw some older stuff of Holdsworth when he was playing with Soft Machine in 1974 and was stunned at his brilliance (although I hated his tone). He's playing way outside the box nowadays - but I don't care for it. Tough shit, asshole...
