  • I NEED HELP PLEASE, WE HAVE VOCALIZER VOCORDER INSTALLED IN CUBASE STUDIO5. WE RAN IT THROUGH THE VOCAL TRACK IT WORKED BUT WHEN WE ATTEMPTED TO CREATE A NEW TRACK WE SET UP THE MIDI AND AUDIO TRACK WITH OUT A RECORDED TRACK WE COULDN'T HEAR ANYTHING. CUBASE STUDIO5 DOES NOT HAVE A VOCORDER LIKE STUDIO4 DOES WHICH IS WHY WE PURCHASED VOCALIZER BY SONIVOX.

Which menu's do i have to choose first to get there?

  • hi, so how do i do this with a mic connected to it, you know i connect my mic to my sound card and when i press a note i hear the vocoder effect, do you know how to do that. thanks mate :)

  • 10 000 x tnx 2 u

  • 10 000 x thanx 2 U

  • Great vid.

  • Excellent little tuto dude ! Tanxalot !

  • You need to do this video using the "Domo Arigato Mr Roboto" voice sample.

  • good vid - yet outdated

    doesnt work with cubase 5

  • Crystal clear, reasonably presented, he shows it to be so easy... THANKS

  • Good tutorial Thanks mate

  • which version of cubase is this?

  • That's cool dude.

  • That's cool dude.

  • question: what version of cubase you're working with?

  • I'm using Cubase 5. It doesn't have a Vocoder :(

  • interesting

  • So the vocoder is BUILT into cubase? That's so rad! All Sonar has is that not terribly effective pentagon synthesizer that you can adapt to be a vocoder with very little effectiveness.

  • where can i download this? and can i get it for free?

  • @WUTMSeries2190 get cubase for free? of course not ^^

  • Good Job!!!!

  • tnx and respect

  • wicked

  • very nice tutorial!!! i really like it!

  • Thanks for this dude, I'm all self-taught on cubase, and I didn't know you could do this! :)

  • how do I record from the microphone?

I got the effect but when you are finished recording, there is only audio without the effect.

    what can I do?

  • You have to clic on the monitor button on the audio track, the small one.

  • towards the end, you were pressing those note keys seamlessly, changing tone while the voice still plays without starting over again for each note hit, i think fl studio cant do that.

  • @makkin16 No wait, sorry, i take that back, Fl studio does do that, i forgot lol.

  • Can I do this without a midi keyboard? I don't have one :,-( What about a virtual one like a vst instrument?

  • nah mate. need a midi keyboard.

  • Yeah easily - just create a region in the MIDI track and draw the tune you want on the piano roll

  • If you press Alt-k you can use the qwerty keboard on your pc to mimi keys on a musical keyboard.

  • What's the name of that vocoder please?

  • It is the internal Vocoder, it comes with the program.

  • lil kay ft harry j, all these things. awesom tune made using cubase. search for it on youtube and leave a comment.

  • Thanks very much dude

  • THX MAN

  • how do u get the piano roll?

  • Double click on the block where the midi notes are.

  • nice, thanx, bro!

  • I've got Fl Studio, and I was wondering if I could download this vocoder anywheres as a .dll, for a VST plugin. If not, is Cubase worth getting? I've never heard of it, but it looks okay...WSID?

  • you've never heard of Cubase? ur new to this game arent you lol?

You wont be able to get this vocoder plugin as it's specific to cubase but there are many vocoders available for a fee or for free

Try googling Vintage Vocoder for a good free one

  • Cubase is the shit :D

  • Cubase is a much more professional and complex program than fl studio! (It can actually run fl studio as an VST!) Fl studio should come with a vocoder as well though and Cubase is very very expensive!

  • lol, what are you talking about. FL comes with a vocoder and it can rewire cubase as a VST aswell. By the way, theres a reason why ProTools is the best industry standard for music, Its because its professional & EASIER to get work done faster such as mastering and etc. Its not about how complex a software is. anyways, i use all programs like Reason, FL, Sonar, Protools, Live, and im currently learning Cubase and theyre all good.

  • thats very true all apps are good you can produce professional music with nearly all of them. Pro tools is popular in the industry but not so much in Europe Cubase and Nuendo are very popular in Europe as a industry standard then Logic ... Nuendo is also very popular in movie score making.

  • ya, thats interesting, never knew about that. It really depends what individual people prefer using.

I just hate it when people argue & fight for what software is "better" and "more professional" when clearly they arent even professionals themselves. haha.

  • hey man,,,,,you can do this with fl studio too...maybe much better than this here... you have plugin in fl to do this ;-)

  • fl comes with a vocoder

  • "the singer", you mean, you!

  • un grand merci :-)

    Lucky

  • how do you open the piano roll?

  • draw a box in the midi track with the pencil then double click the box

  • thx alot man

  • I lol'd at the random singing clip multiple times.

  • how did he make the piano roll smaller ??

  • thanxs

  • Thanks man! Great tutorial!

    Simple, easy & short

  • פשש יודע טוב אנגלית תודה

  • nice.....

    קצר וקולע..... :)

  • ok, please tell me where u got the transformers language from, i NEEEEED that!!!!

  • Nice one great little tutorial.

  • thanx man!!!!

  • That was fantastic! Thanks so much!

  • 2:21 EFFECTS! lol

  • I know... :)

  • i was just teasing, thankyou heaps for the tutorial, ive only used cubase a few times but this really helped me to understand more of how cubase works, usually i make my beats with reason, i own cubase but dont know much about it, im thinking of changing the way i make my music and making all of my songs with cubase. i have heaps of good VST's and reason sucks because it doesnt host them. do you do other tutorials on cubase? for begginners?

  • Comment removed

  • Wow!!!!! it's a very good tutorial!!!!!Congratulations!!!!

But in this case, I need a controller keyboard or not??? I guess I can do it on the piano roll, or I am wrong?

  • You can do it on the piano roll, as long as the midi track that you have programmed it to is being routed to the vocoder

  • ok, thank you to your tip!

  • You did you get the keybaord to come on screen like at 1:27

  • Oh, cheers. One more thing, in the video he connects the midi. On my cubase I can't select the vocoder as an output? My only option is my keyboard. I have Cubase LE 4 which doesn't have a vocoder, so I downloaded one, is this why?

  • Double click the Midi track. There you can also adjust velocity, main volume, panning settings etc. :)

  • WOW! Gr8! I didn't know that program 4 mixing... will try it, thanx!

  • Is the narrator Israeli / Has a Hebrew accent ?

  • french..

  • oh yes. i've been wanting to use that for along time.

  • cooooool!

so THAT's what the vocoder does!

  • Thank you so so Mush for information !

  • Awesome tutorial mate!

  • Excellent Tutorial!

  • Ok so i have Cubase 4 which doesn't have a vocoder included. So I downloaded the Orange vocoder.

First of all, I didn't have to create a miditrack to hear the audio with the vocoder on.

I want to control the vocoder with my midikeyboard, but if I create a miditrack, I can't select the vocoder as output. I could use some help because this is awesome

  • thanks for this, but how do you change the carrier signal?

  • Thanks alot!!! Cubase is confusing but such a powerful program. I like it more than ProTools becuase it seems to to a better job with handling MIDI. Anyway, is there a way I could just plug a mic in (I have a dynamic and 3 condensors) and play this thing live? :D

  • Thank u very much...!!

Was wondering why my vocoder didnt work..:)

  • I gonna come to ur house and steal you to be my teacher )

  • WOW!!! that that will get you a kidnap CHARGE!!!

or... THIS "I gonna come to ur house and steal you'r cubase software cd"

  • Thanks so much mate, always wanted to know how to use a vocoder :D

  • Thank you, good teacher, good explanation and very easy.

  • Thanks man! Great video, I've been wanting to figure out how to use a vocoder for a while haha.

By the way, since you're using a MIDI track to control the pitch, could you use the vocoder as a kind of Pitch-Corrector like AutoTune or whatever?

  • cool mate

  • excellent helped ALOT, brilliant tutorial 5/5 rated

  • thankyou, very useful

  • AWESOME! Thanks!

  • i learned something new. thanks buddy

  • Brilliant!! Thanks a bunch!!

  • im buying this program is it a good program anybody?

  • Are you kidding? It's awesome! I use SX2 in my recording studio, and it's never let me down. Most of the time I use it for straight up audio recording, but it does a great job with MIDI too. I haven't used the vocoder yet, but after watching this video, I'm gonna have to try it! One more thing- if you want to hear Cubase in action, check out my video called "Until you came along". It was all done with SX2, and I think it sounds pretty good!
