"Here" the turning of the key and "your" strange? I'm noticing these types of mistakes more and more online. People are really getting stupid out their!
This is the first time Dylan had played this newly penned song I love the story behind this performance, but sad he had to write it. This is truly the best version of "Abandoned Love!" So glad to see this back on here! Thanks for the upload.
No there aren't any better quality, it was only recorded on a handheld, by a member of the audience. We should just thank him for having the foresight to record it.
Oh, Thank You, Lord & TheChrishoughton! I had this saved, but not downloaded & the WebSherrif....well we all know that story!
I believe Dylan wrote this during or before his embattled split/divorce from Sarah. You can hear his heart break & tell he is wearing it on his sleeve in this song.
I love this song, but it really tears my heart & soul especially when he sings of the kids. Everyone knows he loved/loves her dearly. Nothing compares to this live version. THank You, Thank YOU!

I think with an American accent, you would hear the 'r' in guards more pronounced than we hear on this song. The official lyrics state 'Gods', I know that doesn't prove much where Dylan is concerned, but I think in this case it probably is 'Gods'. Thanks for the comment.
I had a nightmare finding this track and had to convert to mp3. Dylan had turned up to the 'Other End', which was located inside the 'Bitter End', in Greenwich Village, NYC. Rambling Jack Elliott was playing and invited Dylan on stage. Dylan performed with Elliott and then said he had just written a new song. Elliott actually began backing Dylan, at the start, but then thought better of it and left him to stun the audience with this performance.
Thanks for posting. This is a great version I'd never heard before. Amazing.

I prefer this to Joey. I don't understand why Joey was put on Desire instead of this masterpiece :( Joey still a good song though

Proofreader's alert:
it's "I can HEAR (not "here") the turning of the key".....and it's
"I love you but YOU'RE strange" (not "your").
