As a child, I remember my Dad listening to this song a lot. He really loved it, but I never knew the title. When my Dad died of cancer a few years ago, he left instructions requesting that this song be the final song played - and when I heard it, I sobbed. Now, whenever I hear this song, I smile and remember my Dad. I love you Dad.
en mi pobre infancia cuando era hora del almuerzo empezaba un programa radial "sobremesa musical y alli con mis frijolitos me sentaba a escuchar esta melodia... que comida Dios mio , esos frijolitos me sabian a gloria. amen
If my memory serves me, Frank wrote this for the late Paul Reid in the day when Paul was broadcasting an evening show on CJAD in Montreal. This would be in the 60's or 70's.
I love Frank Mills. Jim Brickman is other another favorite. I just recently started listening to their music on a regular basis. It actually helps me to type faster--esp. the Music Box Dancer and Peter Piper. I listen to the slower music at night before bedtime and it has decreased the number of nights I have insomnia.
The one lesson I have learned from listening to music from all over the world, is that we are all more alike than we are different.Take care ADonovan43
I urge anyone reading this to check out the Alex Harvey version of this Scottish folk song The Poet And I. It was on his 1982 'Soldier On The Wall' album. An absolute classic Scottish song with lyrics about Rabbie Burns.
First heard "The Poet and I" while sitting with my last lady friend at the ABC Lounge in Ormond Beach in the early "80's. Also listened to "Deep in the Dark" by the Captain & Tennille. It was on the flip side of "Muskrat Love" at the time. Sigh!
@Barbarabosy Not nobody. It was one of my favorites. I first heard it after I got my first FM album, and listened to it once. I like it just about as much as music box dancer.

La música instrumental marcó mi infancia. Claro, también la música para niños la disfruté, pero no tanto como esto.

I think that it is the most wonderful good music in the musical
piece of Frank Mills. One sometimes listens to the record which
music of this place is recorded in, but it is healed very much.
Thank you very much. (2011.02.07)
