This blackberry is a good device. It works great. Haven't had any problems. My favorite features are the unlimited free internet usage, youtube, text message and of course email. The battery life is real good on this device and far as reception in receiving calls is excellent. I am keeping this phone.

Blackberry rules the earth!!! The 8530 is a great phone...nice way to break into the blackberry world at an affordable $. Upgrade to Storm 2 or Bold 9700 for a great blackberry experience.

i just purchased the sprint version and when i attempt to load the camera, it says "Could not start the camera. Close other applications and try opening the camera again." any suggestions?

In the voice mail option, I want to enter my password but the phone will not take any letters.....only numbers. I want to have my passsword on the voice mails so I don't have to enter it each time. Help.

@StanleyMIchalski Which carrier are you using? I believe certain voicemail settings - like saving your password for automatic activiation - are carrier specific. If your phone supports saving the voicemail password, go to Call log> menu button > options > voicemail > input desired password. You may have to choose a password with numbers only.

@KVLoVEx3 Thanks for your message. YouTube generally works well on the Curve, although getting the videos to play has been difficult in past versions of the device. The Curve 8530, however, should be able to play YT by simply visiting the youtube.com.

This is the one that's "light and cheaply made" but it might stand up to normal wear and tear. (Are you careful or a bit rough with your phones?) Also, the Tour is probably "better" but it lacks wifi and it's more expensive, so.... it kind of depends on whatever you're looking for.

I had an 8830 in the past and I loved the trackball. Didn't have any trouble with it - buty then again, I'm pretty careful with my phones - fewer drops, etc.

@rageman i would suggest BlackBerry Curve 8530, it has the trackpad instead of the trackball, it has wifi and oyu can always get a colorful case for the phone and flash on the camera would drain your battery.
