I really get the warm & fuzzies and a rush of childhood memories from this. God bless whoever posted this. Oh how I wish this was on the DVD set of Schoolhouse rock.
@murielsartre Probably because of all of the film scratches, considering that most of the commercials and promos in the 1970's used 16 or 8mm film rather than 35mm used in movies nowadays.
There were four original openings. two for Multiplication Rock ('73,sponser by General Foods and Nabisco)and one for Grammer Rock ('75)and America Rock ('76 Both by Nabisco only). Science Rock (78)didn't have an opening because by '77 the bundle the segments to make Schoolhouse Rock into one.
@disneyfan85 ... If I remember correctly, the producers had a little trouble getting Good Eleven to the point where they liked it, and it was another year or so until it was released.
No, unfortunately this isn't on the DVD. I have it. But however if multiplication had its own intro, so did the others. If anybody finds them please post them!!!
I absolutely LOVE this little ol' 13-second clip. It truly takes me back to a time when, among other things, Saturday mornings were special...just for us kids. Hell, even General Foods is gone now.
I posted the original end credits for Multiplication Rock, that's the only other rarity I have - unless you want me to bust out the 80's Cloris Leachman filler :)
just dont pause the video at 0:04 . WTF#

Wow, I remember this. I remember being a little freaked out when the cartoon body separated as the GF logo came up, for some reason.
Nice find! Thanks.

Wow, I remember this.... when major companies were still sponsoring shows. Rare find! Thanks.

@MrRegg69 - Right? I was 4 as well , yet I don't remember this opening or the Nabisco one! I'm all "It's Schoolhouse Rocky, a chip off the block..."
This clip looks so... old! Anything from the early 70s creeps me out a bit, though. I feel steadier around 1976!

I always loved Bob Dorough's voice. He reminds a little of Donald Fagen.

Did that Four Legged Zoo just eat the poor magician?

IIRC the other sponsor was Nabisco, if you have that one too.
This is so short but so cool.

I remember that one - with the slogan "You'll find quality in our corner."
