  • It's a great festival. I've gone for four straight years. We could be related several generations back, as my great grandmother Bridget was a Gilgunn before she married my great grandfather who was Thomas Gilgun. The family had a farm in Meenkeeragh, and Bridget we think was from Ballyboy. Thomas's mother was Susan Maguire, probably from Cavan.

  • I did'nt know anything about this! I actually lived on and off in Cavan for many yrs. My name in Irish also is translated to Sorcha Mac Giolla Ghunna or Ni Giolla Gunna. My father will be interested to see this. Will let him know. Thank you for sharing this! : )
