  • Beth has spent the last 18 months song writing, mostly by herself but as said before writer often collaborate with each other.

  • this is one of my very favorite songs - I love the original by Etta and I think Beyonce did a superb version - this one holds up also .

  • its a shame that universal records fucked up her image, you dont see any of the soul you see in this performance as you do in her releases from universal. her look here is that of a natural woman and non-materialistic, but no, the media say that is ugly. The lyrics in her song "So sublime" written by her songwriter (and not by her) are so ironic its sad.

  • @m4rkmcra3 Ugly? What's the definition of "beauty"? She is very natural and I agree with you, she is very attractive.

  • @ivecuba beauty is a combination of qualities that pleases the intellect or moral sense :)

  • @m4rkmcra3 songwriter? how do you know? and which songs on the album are written by herself?

  • @SenfeuIe I did a whole study on Beth at weston college (the one she studied music at) last year :)

  • @m4rkmcra3 ah ok. are all songs written by songwrites? how many on her album would you say, did she write by herself?

  • @SenfeuIe well no it depends on the contract. if an artist is a good songwriter then chances are shes going to contribute but usually with major deals there will be a team of 2 or 3 including the artist to write songs (musically and lyrically) im not sure if theres any written by herself entirely but i know there were 2 songwriters writing her songs with her for this album

  • @m4rkmcra3 okay thanks! i must say that that im a bit disapointet from that

  • @SenfeuIe answer is 6. hope that helps.

  • I just bought Little Dreamer by Beth Rowley - I have been watchign these videos for two days and am completely hooked on this woman's voice .

I only hope she comes out with a second Cd soon - this woman deserves a very large audience !

  • Of course Etta James and the Christine Perfect with Chicken Shack versions, but Beth does enough to be up there alongside those covers.

  • she is so so mega

  • WOW....thoroughly enjoyed this!!! VERY GOOD!!! I loved your spin on this!!

  • WHY WASEN'T I INVITED???

  • give's me chills everytime i hear this song. so beautiful

  • damn.............................

  • great!!!

  • Excellent!

  • really good and smooth...

  • excellent , great voice, great delivery , a bit like Miranda Louise of Nashville

  • one of the best covers of this song.

  • She makes me remember what it felt like to fall in love. Damn it, I just did.

  • I was Blown Away By Beth Rowley!! She one of my Favorite Singers as of Right Now!!!.... o by the way this is America and every ASSHOLE is Given the Right to be WRONG!!!

    GodBless Her...

  • I really would like the critics like anbarick, adhock Necromancysatx? to post a link to some of their work. I really would like to see what makes them soooo qualified to make these totally stupid opinions. Prove it.

  • beautiful... nice... soulful... great job!!

  • OMG, why havent I heard about this woman before? Thats the most beautiful and soulfull song I ever heard in my life. Such a powerfull and strong voice, so soooooo beautiful. I wish I could sing like her. She is such a god blessed talent. sooooo goooddddd sooo gooooddd... im sooooo impresseeeeeedddddd :D

  • I can't understand why someone like addhock would come here, listen, pick an artist apart, then keep coming back. If you don't like her, then go somewhere else!

  • Beth sang this version at least 4 years ago. Her live stuff has developed a lot as do a lot of singers. Addhock appears to have a somewhat -ve agenda whereRowley is concerned. Why????

  • Boring...

  • I Love This Version, Better Than Other One Out There.

  • Great job sweetheart. very good voice, you just need to "extend" some words a bit longer when you sing. Listen to Black R&B music awhile. study it. Then sing it again and again. does anyone know what I'm saying?

  • Shes a real doll but she needs Kathi McDonald as a mentor. Kathi sings the damn hell out of this tune.

  • I met her after a show a few weeks ago and she seemed rather shy. I think that this may explain why she hasn't developed a strong stage presence yet to match the quality of her voice

  • I think her stage presence does match the quality of her voice.

  • magichounddog>>>this over etta....no way the the intimidator over the originator. loser

  • but she's kind of a boring performer... say something woman... don't just stand there... improvise!!!

  • this girl has got soul...

  • adhock must be tone deaf...

  • i'd rather go blind ~:o

  • Have to say I wasn't too impressed having heard some good things about her. Maybe an off night?

  • Maybe . . .

  • what a load of cobblers!!

  • she has loads of passion! and shes not screetching at the higher notes shes just got a naturally gutsy character filled voice. id rather she did that than sang it like a choir boy!

  • Someone is bitter, huh.

  • I almost perfer this version over Etta.

  • very nice.

  • Very Good! I enjoyed your singing. If you like, you can find my video on YOUTUBE under Wayne Weberpal. Best Wishes, Wayne

  • Nice mellow version.

  • pop jazz sweet. album of the year. quality like dusty springfield, eva cassidy, amy winehouse, gabi cilme, rhian grundy!

  • It's a nice enough version, but the best ever performer of this live is the wonderful and unfairly overlooked Ruby Turner. On youtube there's only a recording on of a studio version she did years ago where the tempo and rhythm were changed, sucking the soul out of the song. I wish there was a live version, you'd see what I mean. I've seen her actually cry when she sings it.

  • Ever heard of Etta James?

  • Of course, lol, but never seen her live...

  • Mark my words- in a short comparing Joss Stone, Eva Cassidy, Nora Jones et al to Beth Rowley. Get to one of her live shows- it'll blow you away. I did for the first time last week in my - and her - home town and it was awesome!

  • Saw Beth tonight at Dingwalls in Camden. She was amazing. I love this track.... definitely someone destined for the big time. Brilliant.

  • Totaly agree with you WOW,Eva Cassidy and her are 2 or a kind ay!

  • Thank you for that information, bondman21. I'm gonna have to look out for more numbers by these two artists - they're both excellent performers.

Greetings to you from wonderful Western Australia.

We don't have to WIN the human race ... just SAVE it ...

    Colin Hugh Abbott

    Jarrahdale.

  • Evidently a great talent. Who is the guy on the mouth organ?

  • His name is John Fenlon from Bristol, a great blues singer/harp player. Played with Beth at the Bush Hall last week in London and will be playing again this coming Friday evening at Dartington Great Hall in Devon at the Music Festival. John is a great guy and talent in his own rights and a great favorite on the Bristol scene for many years.

  • to clarify John will be playing with Beth again this Friday, tomorrow the 25th April
