  • You're missing a hammer on in both of the last two sweeps before the trem picking part and the last diminished sweep.

  • Good job, try using direct feed from your amp though.

And, the treble and bass were not set good on the amp.

Have the treble at about 45 percent, and the bass at 50.

  • How come I always see people playing this on standard tuning?

    :(

  • @NaSaKeX

Because it's in standard tuning, just a few steps down from E standard.

  • sick bro check out mine if you get a chance

  • really fuckin good man...this is by far the best version i've seen on youtube (except for the video of paul of course.) as far as the use of your pinky goes, i'm going to agree with you that it really isn't necessary in some of those shapes. I do use the pinky for the sections the other guy was talking about but it's really a player's choice in this situation.

  • beastly

  • omg read the description...

  • this would honestly be one of the best renditions of this song's solo i've seen, if it were recorded better.

such a talented player as yourself should have a handy camera by his side to record all of the most shreddlyest meddlys such as this one.

haha, no seriously, great cover man. i just didnt like the recording. but A+ playing.

  • learn to use ur pinky man

  • I can use my pinky just fine. Its more efficient not to in most of these arpeggios, though. Save your pinky for the sweeps with the hammer ons on the E and A strings.

  • but its WAY cleaner when using your pinky trust me

  • dude that was really good

im learning the solo right now and those sweeps are not easy lol

  • Sounded pretty tight. nice

  • pretty sure its just C# stander cuz if u play the rytm to it it sounds like the same tuning

  • yeah its C# standard but then tune the last E string up half a step

  • Is it dropped C#...? I thought is was standard C# tuning. At least that's what I was told. Not sure....

  • ...what?

if it's dropped C#tuning, which it is,

then it's half a step on all the strings 'cept the bottom one which is dropped a further step.

so like, 2nd string is G# instead of A.

and like that for all but the bottom string.

    (Y)

    just to clarify, hahaha.

good stuff, this is also probably a good idea if you don't have 24 frets.

which neither I or this guy have.

    :)

  • no you suck. C# is not half a step down, D# tuning (Eb) is.

  • that was awesome BTBAM is my favorite band kick ass good job

  • i can do the last 10 seconds of it lol...VERY NICE JOB!!!

  • wow man that is awesome. good job

  • AMAZING!

  • 2 words man. KICK ASS

  • c sharp tuning

  • keep great job man!!

  • Fucking shred

  • righto

  • I like to group sweep picking into four different categories: Three string sweeps, non hammer-on 5 string sweeps, hammer-on 5 string sweeps and 6 string sweeps. I find that the 3 string sweeps are easiest, they can obviously be done fastest. It took about 4 months for me to teach myself how to do 5 string non-hammer on sweeps (thats what you see in the video, with tapping).

  • how hard is it to sweep like that, and also how long did it take to learn basic sweep movements?

  • wooow man ur amaazing amazing song!!

  • yeah drop d flat is not insanely low at all

  • eh?

  • fucker

  • hahaha Db Ab E B Gb Db... thats not insanely low.. it's a half step down with the low E down 1 and a half.. at the gates is insane, B standard on a 6 string... or meshuggah

  • The Acacia Strain tunes A Standard

  • no, it's not half a step down it's one and a half steps down on all strings. sure it's not insanely low, but if you play it tuned that way it makes the arps a lot harder to play

  • I've tried learning that before, even with good tabs, it's freaking insane. BTBAM are one of the best bands today. Keep it up. I am impressed.

  • BTBAM is indeed one of the best of this day and age. I totally agree. And thank you very much for the comment. I appreciate it

    ROCK ON!

  • that was brilliant. send the tabs!

  • Nicely done, lad

  • hey do you have the tab saved or anything in any format that i could have??? im tryin to learn it but i feel like the tab im using throws in some weird extra notes sometimes.

  • Yes, actually. I have the tab on a program called Tabit. I can send you the full song (youd have to buy the program) or I can send you just the sweep riff. Ill just email you the file.

  • dude that was the shit! btbam rocks, u rock, DAMN !!!!

  • Lol, thanks! Rock on.

  • LOL. Check my comment response up at the top. Ah, Ill just copy and paste...

"Well I actually tabbed this version using a combination of two things... by ear and using Shreddemon77's version (loosely). In order to play the actual one, you have to tune waaayy down to BTBAM's actual tuning.... which is Db,Ab,E,B,Gb,Db. Its insanely low tuning."

  • PLEASE! TELL ME!!! Where did you get the tab for that? Power tab...Guitar pro....uhh....something. TELL ME BRO!

  • I well need to learn how to sweep

  • is the les paul special as heavy as regular les pauls, it looks like you have a special

  • Well I would say it depends on the kind of wood you use... but in general... I really couldnt tell. The Les Paul Special is a solid body... a solid wood guitar without the carved top. The Les Paul Standard/ Classic is carved at the top... so I think they use more wood to make it.

  • what kind of guitar is that?

  • Gibson Les Paul

  • whered u get the tab 4 it?

  • that was sick

  • That was fucking great. Keep it up.

  • Thanks x 2

  • great job

  • well done man

  • lol.

  • Hey shelly, fyi Db is C# you mouth breathing fool. Learn your musical alphabet.

  • it's actually lower than that ;P its in C#standard

    which i beleive is ..

    (C#, F#, B, E, Ab, C#)

  • I orgasmed

  • LOL! Thanks i guess? lol

  • Where did you get the tabs for this?

  • Well I actually tabbed this version using a combination of two things... by ear and using Shreddemon77's version (loosely). In order to play the actual one, you have to tune waaayy down to BTBAM's actual tuning.... which is Db,Ab,E,B,Gb,Db. Its insanely low tuning.

  • ya its cool... its all about comfort.

  • Thanks for the tip. That actually makes it harder... but that might be because I'm not used to the classical guitar stance. I was taught music theory using that stance and never used it again. lol. Thanks though

  • hey heres a suggestion its easier on the arm and back to.. i know this will sound wierd... but put the guitar in between you legs so that the left one cradles the notch in the guitar and the end sits on the inner right leg... believe me it helps..

  • sounds good... keep practicing its pretty easy after you get the hang of it... i dont like les pauls but sounded good on it... peace

  • Well, to each his own. Thanks for the comment. Appreciate it. :]

  • awesome vid keep it up dude
