  • fuck the dislikes

  • Never lost 4 words but Steven Does have that effect on me.... <3

  • Steven Wilson -Insurgentes MÉXICO-

  • I only heard Steve Wilsons music last year - courtesy of playing on Spotify.

I'm still learning which band is which but each one I can appreciate - Blackfield/No-man etc.

At 53 it's nice to find something new.

  • "I think it's a big hoax. I almost wish it would have happened though because 6 million is a good start." - Steven Wilson on the Holocaust

  • what album is this from?

  • @paranoidandroid447 From Insurgentes deluxe edition.

  • @PermanentWaves80 thanks, i commented that before i realised it said the album in the description.... silly me

  • Why hasnt Wilson been requested to soundtrack something. Like a good atmospheric computer game or a movie.

  • At 2:33, starts a beautiful guitar solo..doesn't seem to be one the hardest to play but wow it gets to you

  • i can't just believe that this guy can't make a bad song.. he is a god !!

  • This is the first non-porcupine tree song Steven has written that I listen to. His solo stuff is great too it seems! I really should invest some more time in exploring his work more! beautiful!

  • i think with his solo stuff he's hot on reznors heels, for interesting sounds and textures.i can see why he separates this stuff from porcupine tree.i think i maybe like it slightly more, and i'm a big p tree fan.

  • @1kevpap I agree with the reznor thing, but I´m more into the PT.

SW got this jazzy-thing going on on his solo records (2) and thats when I SOMETIMES fall of the wagon, but overall he is a GREAT musician, with great lyrics and the soundscapes the guy makes is amazing. BUT Richard B. is the sound guy in PT, no doubt!

    PT rocks, and SW too.

    God bless e´m

  • @redarmr Wierd its the more experimental nature that appeals to me in SW solo work

  • I am happy that Steve wilson's work is getting more views...

When I listen to his music I feel like connecting to my real self...

    no consumerism,

no fake people with fake voices

not trying to be cool or sexy

I escape this sick fake world when I listen to his music..

    Thanks Steve..

  • @abhis197 My sentiments exactly, friend.

  • whoooooooaahhhh! this song is incredibe!

  • oh man i forgot about this song. after listening to grace for drowning, what a treat to rediscover this. =)

  • Love drawing to this song, wish it was longer.

  • Love at first hearing, it tickles your senses :)

  • Deeply relaxing... :) ... Is this real life?

  • breathtaking .....

  • justin Biber?? The difference of sw to others is that you can hear his songs thousand times and they won't be boring ! PT and SW are musicans deluxe... you don't never less 'an evening with steven wilson'

  • but pretty intense

  • that was intense, really intense, but not really intense

  • Where's this picture from?

  • i second svantebolos. p tree are in a completely different galaxy, musically. there's no commercial inhibition to their creative style. who cares about charts? its the music that counts! go pt!

  • Justin Bieber is just a tool. A tool to himself, a tool to the music industry and a tool to me.

  • The thing about bieber is right, but you should stop "3 dislikes fuckers"

Chill, not everyone must like it

  • @MalbenHead Thank you. The dislikes remind you that less than half of a percent of the people that rated the song dislike it.

  • Didn't realise this song existed. It's not on Insurgentes normal version. I love it though. Its epic.

  • This would be even more epic with vocal.

  • Stop commenting about people who dislike this, I mean come on! Everyone is entitled to their opnion! How bad it may be

  • I love this piece. My favourite Insurgentes B side

  • 1 mothafucker had the balls to dislike this.

  • @TheLawd101 3 (!) motherfuckers dislike this... --__--

  • @IchMorgenstern LOL HAHAHA that's funny how you put it. Fuck those fucking MotherFuckers.... -__- ugh. PT Rocks!

  • @TheLawd101 Yes,and he invited his retarded friends,to dislike it aswell...

  • Eso suena demasiado hermoso!

  • seems like womankind, and Asia miss some really good music! What a pity...

  • I just discovered a moth in my room. I offered it a hand, and it climbed on it. Then I carried it to the window and let it fly away, while this music was still playing. Things like this usually don't happen. Beautiful song.

  • Collecting Space > Mellotron Scratch

  • This and other deluxe version songs are downloadable at SoundCloud... yes!

  • @jojojodio If you respect an artist for their work like Steve Wilson then you should buy it to support their career. I pirate music, but I'm just making a point. I still buy albums from bands and artists I want to support. =)

  • @HxcRobb92 - If the artist itself upload the songs on Sound Cloud, then it is not pirating but sharing, ok? Make sure you check this before insinuating that I am pirating his music.

  • @jojojodio Relax kid. I was just making a point, not trying to call you out.

  • I only WISH I was able to get the Deluxe edition of Insurgentes... I have the regular one, but if I could have gotten my hands on the Deluxe edition, I could listen to this properly : / Wonderful piece of art!

  • amazing

  • Wow this is awesome

  • where did u get that image from its so nice :)

  • Fucking AMAZING

  • This is tottally amazing... i closed my eyes and it sent me to another galaxy.

Gotta say i really enjoyed the ride.

  • Insurgentes album was pretty much the best thing I've heard in my whole life.

  • Couldn't agree with you more Svantebolos

  • I love this song. I do not see Steven Wilson as a god, as some idol, or some supernatural composer. I see him as a common guy, like me, with the successful ability of a music artist. The way that he convulges these sounds to us really brings out his own intellect. I think these simple reasons keep me coming to his music for inspiration.

  • When God created the world, this song sounded

  • Wow! The guitar beginning at 2:33 sounds like a dizi! :D

  • Steven Wilson= Magic!!

  • I'm actually getting really sick of everything being compared with Justin Bieber... Shut up about him.

Congratulations to him, hes a marketing tool, another child star, he'll fade into obscurity in a few years. Deal with it.

  • @JGill93 I was just about to agree with this comment... I lol'd when I realised I wrote it.

  • @JGill93 Cool story bro XD

  • @JGill93 Yeah I hate that over rated bastard!

  • @JGill93 OR, he'll remain popular but fall into self-destructive bullshit like every other teen star.

God I wish we lived in like a modern re-incarnation of the 70's where somehow the music trumped looks and everything else. Back when musicians were musicians and the limitations of media allowed for the perpetuation of music artists based solely on their sound and NOT their looks.

  • 70s had just as much bad music as any other time period, people always think the past had better music but its just because good music gets remembered the crap gets forgotten. One day people will say i wish we had music like 2010 like steven wilson and dream theater. They wont even know about JB

  • No dislikes? As it should be. Steven Wilson is god.

  • steven wilson should be the new chuck norris.

  • There is such a signature Steven Wilson sound in this song

  • Steven Wilson is Simply A Musical GENIUS....God Bless you Steven and keep enlighten our souls with your FAB Music....LOTS OF LOVE!!

  • One thing I have with hardcore pt fans is that Yes I agree it is not a common band to find and the music they do is actually brilliant but that's the thing is it's music. I often read comparatives to Justin Bieber who doesn't even qualify as a musician. SO if we were to compare Steven WIlson/Porcupine tree we should do it with something of it's category and not some manufactured celebrity idol who's face you see in cosmo os some other rubbish magazine. Music is to be compared with music

  • @Svantebolos Well said!

  • @Svantebolos iwould ask justin bieber where he got the devils number?

  • @Svantebolos You can compare this to Katatonia, Opeth, or even some Beatles. Porcupine tree has embedded a lot of these musical characteristics into their music and has made their own unique style. To be honest, I don't think Porcupine Tree has a specific genre. They always have something new to offer in every album. Which is why they are one of my favorite top 3 bands.

  • @Svantebolos Amen to that;)

  • Brilliant :)

  • That´s true Music

  • 0 bieber fans watched this :)

  • Steven Wilson has a great light, great songwriter, his songs are superior works. God enlighten this guy!

  • This song just takes the rhythm and goes so deep that I cannot explain...Steven Wilson may have made himself my favorite composer with this single album. I mean goddamnit, every song could be an awesome single. Hahaha.

  • This song is simply amaizing, to hear it just relaxes me and takes me to another world, definitly Steven Wilson is the best musician

  • Oh dear that Has to be the best song i've heard in a long time, what album is this on?

  • @juelsen Insurgentes

  • @juelsen

This song is from the album Insurgentes, but it is in the Deluxe Edition copy. It was a very limited edition.

  • Steven Wilson--GOD

  • PT and Blackfield are touring together.

If as you are, on a compute,r just check the websites.

  • just close your eyes and let the music... rape your ears.

  • though i`ve got almost all P.T. & wilson`s albums, thank you form posting that beautiful unavailable song (for me) from S.W.

by the way, is there any new album from P.T?

  • @MrJasonroy There is not any new PT material after The Incident (2009), and the live DVD Anesthetize (2010). It will most likely be another year before a new PT release; however, Steven is working on a new solo album due later this year, a new Blackfield album due later this month, and a collaboration with Mikael Akerfeldt also due this year :)

  • When I first listen to this song, I felt a big emotion inside me...

    I think its love, totally

  • <3

  • collecting space up in the sky - mellotron scratch (Deadwing, Porcupine Tree)

  • @Zehydra106 'You were the one collecting space' - Futile (Futile, Porcupine Tree)

  • @onesppiegel I don't hear much in the way of delay or that kind of effect, but there's definitely something interesting about the tone. Sounds like an electronic violin.

  • @mcpancakes Yeah, very interesting. If you listen it carefully, the notes sounds without any picking. I believe it's an e-bow plus volume pedal.

  • @onesppiegel I don't know if it is an electric violin, sounds like it. But, I don't believe on the album it says that an electric violin was used on any of the tracks. He must be using some kind of e-bow or something, but i don't know. It almost sounds like he is not picking any notes at all. I would like to belive that it is an electric violin, though.

  • @onesppiegel Sorry, I delete my own comment by mistake. For those who were reading, I was asking about the efect used in 02:30... I was wondering if it was some kind of reverse delay or e-bow.

  • @onesppiegel It's a japanese instrument called "Koto" ^^

  • @onesppiegel Isnt it an electric violin?

  • @992171B It really does sound like one, but when I looked on the Wikipedia page, I couldn't find any violin players in the list of contributors :(

  • @992171B Its a sound made by Richard on the synth

  • @onesppiegel I'm thinking it's guitar run through an overdriven distortion box, which is why the picking (what little there is) isn't very audible; the sustain carries the note and somewhat covers pick attack (and the picking can be gentler than usual, which also helps) (and I've done this; I'm not making it up). Fripp, Hackett and many others have used this over the decades.

  • @onesppiegel I'm pretty sure it's not synth; the longer notes start to evolve to a higher harmonic, using feedback, a characteristic of electric guitar + overdrive. And it's not electric violin. Incidentally, the koto is the plucked harp-like instrument heard starting at :22 and on throughout the song, including the beautiful outro where it's combined with one or more guitar tracks.

  • best song of all insurgentes.

  • I love the picture.

  • u know theres a shit load of steven`s albums that only exists in numbers o 2000 copies, and most of it are "limited edition"... u know steven u have more than 2000 fans now

  • beautiful

  • I love this soooooo much

  • This Is Amazing ! Check My Steven Wilson And P Tree Uploads !

  • by far the best song from Insurgentes

  • Sounds like God Is An Astronaut.

  • @jagphsd indeed.

  • @sebatefri No.

  • @sebatefri duhhh...stupid person evaarr, u stoopid bro!

  • @sebatefri no, just no.

  • This is absolutely epic! why couldn't i get my hands on the deluxe version?!!?

  • Wow, I haven't heard this one before. Definitely Wilson at his best, small and elegant.

  • wow this is just about the most amazing steve wilson work i heard

  • Which album is that song from? please excuse my englisch =/

  • @CrazyBCRICH666 it's an insurgentes bonus track.

  • dreamy... and melancholic...

  • Steven Wilson should live forever!!! Who could compose such music but him...

  • reminds me of some Tool videos

  • honestly, could someone please tab this beautiful song out? i want to play it! thanks!

  • This picture is almost as beautiful as the song and fits it very well. Great song. Glad you uploaded it :)

  • I´m completely in Love with this song..

There has to be something greater and more profound than "magic" to describe Steven´s music..

  • Fantastic song!

  • this is the best song i have heard all my life, i swear.

  • Great songs...

Kind of reminds me of Legião Urbana, a brazilian band from the 80-90's. They don't have the same style, but some instrumental songs sound alike!

  • I'm really lucky I was able to get my hands on one of the extra bonus discs that either Burning Shed or Headphone Dust had lying around.

  • I want this track so bad, i bought the regular edition and didn't get it.

  • masterpiece, thankz for the upload

  • Comment removed

  • i am addicted...vinyl so rare(200),but i got it just in time

  • great song! everything that comes from SW is absolutely brilliant!

  • Ahh the Adrian Belew sound on 2:33. What's the secret?

  • God knows. But Steven has collaborated with King Crimson/Fripp/Belew. So he probably was asking Belew the same thing at some point!

  • @api9mm Believe it or not : mids!

  • That's Fripp soloing with a Sustainiac. He appears on a few of SW's songs as well as Belew and Alex Lifeson in one in fact. Just found this stuff out.

  • @jp2hotty Mids are so underrated! Every bass player I talk to is like "how do you get harmonics to ring out so great and just sound good?" MIDS!

  • I'm glad someone has finally uploaded the song on here...Been looking for it for quite a while.

    Great song!

  • It's finding little rare bits of stream like this that make the internet worth while. I don't have the deluxe edition of Insurgentes and would not have found this song otherwise. And the same goes for some really rare Porcupine Tree tracks and demos (such as Novak, I Fail, or Meantime).

  • Wonderful piece of music :) . My favourite song next to 'Harmony Korine' , according to album "Insurgentes".Thanks for upload.Cheers!

  • God *bless* you for posting this. Some of us didn't get our hands on the deluxe edition & may never have heard it...

  • Hey Thanks. Glad you enjoyed :)

  • @msclvr48 on the other hand, some of us downloaded the deluxe edition for free hehe XDXDXDXD

  • @davidjm7 Thank you for not supporting the artist, freeloader.
