A really good review - I was worried about fitting the RAM and the lower-fan, as no-one has shown me if it were possible... You did, which is great. just a quick question i used to have a cooler of the same design and in the instruction manual said to have the orientation of the cooler with the heatpipes facing the rear of the case for the rear case fan to pull air away from the heatpipes i was wondering would you actually get better temps if you had used this same orientation

@KAP0308 I believe the i7 2600k has on board HD3200 graphics. Apart from that it's faster than the i5 in benchmarks when clocked at the same speeds. But that isn't reason enough to make me buy it over the i5 2500, oh and the 2600k has an unlocked multiplier :).

current or a lower amprage,Thow you might wear out the motors wire diodes quiker.

Who the hell cares about colour for a PC part unless you are doing one of those stupid see threw cases with LEDs, all I care about is performance. Any ways no point is wasting even more money by making your PC case all flashy, are you building it to play games or sit & look are the PC tower?... am I right? Only thing that even half way matters for looks is the tower case it's self, even then it doesn't matter too much it is mainly about how well the tower case functions for what you are building

You'd be surprised how much some people care about looks when it comes to PCs. I don't care personally, mine's just a black box with no windows to see the stuff inside, but when you pay a lot for components I can see why some people would like to make it look nice too.

OS X isn't a superior platform to Windows, it has some advantages but so does Windows. Overall they're both excellent. Mac offers worse perf/$ and less hardware choice (no netbook, consumer mid-tower for example). IMO there's no reason to go Mac. Saying it's "just better" isn't a reason ;P

Windows has many free anti-virus applications, you can grab Microsoft Security Essentials free and it hides away in the background barely using any resources. I haven't had a virus for years, and I only run MSE.

If you really think running a lightweight anti-virus application is the end of the world, then sure go Mac!

OS X has no strong points other than its easy of use. Linux does not get viruses and is updated every 2 weeks. Search MacDefender it came out last week the first major Virus for Mac and Apple denied its existence. Anyone who ever uses Linux will never return to anything else.

I have the NH-D14 since 7 months now, and It's been working flawless. I've not clocked my system since I'm not into it at all.

However, when I first got the cooler my cores were at 22C for multiple months until now. They reach 27-30C without gaming that is.

While playing The Witcher 2 at max settings, the cores they stay under 40C which is amazing. Thanks for the review though. :)
