  • Don't give up Britain...There are many Americans that will stand beside you like our fathers and grandfathers did in WWI and WWII...MAY THERE ALWAYS BE A ROYAL NAVY and God save the Queen!

  • Really good Songs

    Greetings from Germany!

  • Heavens to Lord Nelson! THANK YOU very much for upoloading this! The music, montage images & your comments are QUITE inspiring! I've always loved this tune! You've MADE my day & my week! CHEERS, mate! :-)

  • This song is way better if you keep going up another step in the bridge. You'd think they would have realized that by now.

  • Technically your mother.

  • Scipio is certainly NOT there, it's the slow march of the Grenadier Guards usually heard during Trooping the Colour. Hornpipe leads directly into Rule Britannia introduction.

  • More "hail" from Greece for this superb tune!!!

  • What is the second peace of music in this video?

  • @mynoon1999 2nd piece is scipio followed by rule britannia

  • @595263 Thanks.

  • Where has all the honour gone from the world, wish we went back to old days when we called poeple older than us Sir and Ma'am with respect :/

  • @TheSirRoberto ... and guys gave up seats for women, held doors open for who ever and kids looked up to role models not games screens

  • @Rikkyhardo..... and when you could call yourself a lucky people if you had enough food to survive the winter working 10 hours a day while yours sons were dying for pneumonia!

  • @TheSirRoberto And slavery! And widespread famine! Goddamn, I miss that shit.

  • @ChobThomas Technically, the British Empire did a lot to get rid of slavery.

And many provisions were made to tackle famine in India.

  • Jack Tar down Pompey.

  • What is the song in the middle? The first is "Sailor's Hornpipe" and the third is "Rule Brittania" but what is second? It sounds really cool (all three).

  • @MMusashi7 "thine be the glory!"

  • Death from a thousand cuts, from the Senior service to a small canoe armed with a pea shooter. Thank you gordon Brown and David Cameron.

  • @malcolmcog The same thing is happening in America. The conservatives here just want to dismantle not only the military, but half of the government. And what's sad is, a lot of people I talk to, including military, err to think that the conservatives favor them in some way. Nothing could be farther from the truth. It's the liberals who get things done over here, not the do nothing Republicans, or this fucking "tea party" movement..the problem with our country is the ignorance of its people..

  • @malcolmcog Look on the bright side: you can't get lung cancer from a small canoe.

  • Popeye!!!!

  • Where has the great pride in the Royal Navy gone?

  • @1AdrianR unfortunately all our pride has gone up the Swanee ... this country has little to be proud of now.

Mind you it's still a arousing tune innit?

  • @Rikkyhardo Very much so. It is saddening that the government is suppressing it to.

  • @Rikkyhardo Same way about the US Navy. The Navy used to be total badasses, now they are soft pampered civilians in a uniform. I'm still grateful for their service regardless, bu still. There is no romanticism of the high seas anymore... and no more scurvy either.

  • @skittlesareyum48 and they get lasses on board with them ... nice innit?

  • @Rikkyhardo co-ed showers :DDDD

  • @skittlesareyum48 technically the US navy still is bad ass, Given that the Marines and seals are a division of the navy. I wouldn't mess with any of the three to be honest. Keep in mind they killed Bin laden.

The US Air force on the other hand...

  • @skittlesareyum48

aww, com on dude, theres lots o remance on the high seas..

we got women on board now ;)

  • @kenns9 The Navy just ain't what it used to be with out scurvy! :P

  • @skittlesareyum48 They got lemons now ha ha

  • @Rikkyhardo I believe our country's pride is going to soon increase, and we shall soon be proud once more!

  • @Rikkyhardo It's not an age for a country being the biggest and baddest out there. I'm proud to be English, and I'll be damned if I ever stop being proud of my country

  • @Rikkyhardo Pride cometh before the fall.

  • @PuppetsNStuff2 That it does

  • @1AdrianR Although most of our "grand fleet" is now lying on some turkish beach being turned into paperwieghts we still have the 2 new carriers, the type 45 and the astute subs to be proud of.

  • Aye finest navies history has seen good on ya lad (y)

  • @3:45 Bear Grylls?!

  • I play this when ever i go fishing

  • For an absolutely in-depth look and a clear understanding of life in the Royal Navy during the Regency Period, read the Patrick O'Brian "Aubrey/Maturin" novels. Amazing.

  • thumbs up for duck from F.R.I.E.N.D.S!!!!!!!! :D

  • This was in the movie The Warriors Way, but it didnt seem to be credited at the end. I loved the scene it played in and I always liked this tune.

    Semper Fidelis

  • What about a "RikkyRumSodomyandtheLash"? Wasn't that what Churchill said was the foundation of Britain's nautical empire when he was lord of the Admiralty?? (hahahaha)! Just kiddin' mate...put away the lash.

    ; ))

  • Should this be on Hardo, AirDo, or Maggie Thatcher's Greatest Hits? Hail Brittania! Why have you kept it on the down low for so long? I am a sucker for nationalistic masterpeices.

  • @Circumpunk you should do the U.S of feckin A, dammit! ;D

  • @Circumpunk if I'd have had an Airdo when I made this I guess it would have been on that ... buuut I could make a seaworthy Rikky *thinks* whatabout RikkyHeaveHo lol

  • Pretty pics. Love old ships. Good job!

  • Hmmm, that's an interesting flag there. I;ve never seen st. George's cross with a Union Jack at the top left corner. Funny how i sometimes whistle to myself some of these tunes. And i have NO idea where they come from or what they mean! HAHA! So what is the purpose of this vid, Rikky Bro? To glorify British military strength and power? Or what? I really do enjoy this vid. Even though i;m Yank i still find this enjoyble. Great ensemble of pics, man!

  • @thefidlerontheroof xplanation - at the time my daughter's partner was trying to get into the Royal Marines, so that got me going into the history of the Royal Navy. The Last Night of the Proms is the last of a season of BBC Promenade Concerts all shown on telly. The first part of the show plays popular classics. Then some British patriotic pieces in the second half of the concert. This sequence traditionally begins with Edward Elgar's Land of Hope and Glory, and finishes with Rule, Britannia

  • @Rikkyhardo very chill, mate, thanks

  • @thefidlerontheroof i will always answer a question if I like ya lol

  • @Rikkyhardo ohhhh woooow. I am soooo privileged :P!

And what fuckin' " my yo yo" is you talkin' 'bout? Hmmmmm. I may be having a dirty mind right now ;p

  • super!

  • This must be the most beautiful version !

  • At 2:30 we used to own that one actually till we decominsioned her. She's the HMS Ark Royal IV

  • the sailors hornpipe was mainly for exercise on board ships

  • how to manage a crew. if i was a new captain in 1767, i would hope and pray i inherited a ship full of veteran sailors. i would not mess with them. my main desire would be to avoid sinking!! and if my crew can prevent that, they shall have all the breathing space they need! as i silently pray for deliverance from the briny deep!

  • they are great, how fast !!!!!

  • The Royal Navy, and with them the Royal Marines, have defeated more enemies than anybody on the planet (ok the army helped and if it wasn't for the RAF ich speche would be the norm and so on.)

I'm British and proud of that and thank goodness we aren't in the Euro :) BTW I love Greece and I hope they get out of this mess.

Like we used to say in 'The Regiment', 'Mess with the best, die like the rest.'

  • @TheRikmayell What was your number?

  • no they commanders at war the sailors not

  • not when they're at war tho, then they are at each others throats

  • There will be no britain soon once we get independence from the Scots.

  • I know the first part as The Sailor's Hornpipe, but what are the other songs called? nice slideshow by the way! :)

  • The second bits a hymn that I have sung loads of times, but have forgotten the title as I ain't been to church for ten year or more. The last one is Rule Britannia which is a sort of nationalistic song to evoke pride and visions of Britain's past glorys, a very stiring song.

Oh, and regarding ThePhantomMajor's comment, Enoch did read the future of Britain right, but let's hope it doesn't all come true

  • it is Lo See the Conquering Hero but it does have another name as well. Can't remember it

  • It's usually known as Thine be the Glory, bu the melody is earlier. It's made by Handel and is from Judas Maccabaeus and See, the conqu'ring hero comes.

  • That's the one ... thanks kosefix

  • @jefferson92 after the sailor horpipe you hear the anthem "rule britannia"

  • Thinking about our little rainy island NNE of Ushant, we didnt do too bad, over a quarter of the globe covered in pink!

    All is forgiven Enoch!

  • I wish Britain was great but it has gone down the shitter long ago.

If it wasnt for Casper Weinberger giving us some of the NATO sidewinders for our Harriers that last throw of the imperial dice (the Falklands) would have gone tits up as well!

Let's bring back some national pride and let's have some leaders with some bollox!!

  • 2:31... Britain don't own that.

  • sorry mate it's one of yours ... got carriered away lol

  • No problem, it's just a little amusing to me, "Pride of the Royal Navy... the USS Nimitz".

    *Nelson flips over in grave*

  • yeh ... but think what we could do with it ... we could get most of our warplanes on it

  • Well the QE class are supposed to do the job for you guys in case the Argies go ape again.

  • @archer49d

If it makes you feel better, three of the 'keel plate owners' (one of builders of it) of the USS Nimitz were & are from England.

  • Long live england!

  • and long may we survive ... gives england a bid EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE ... lol Engerland ruled Mary
