I love how passivhause has a far superior building design, software, and a more tried and true design than anything this guy has come up with. He gets mad at them because they are dipping into his "building houses for the idiot" book sales department. I just have to put some letters next to my name like P.h. b. and write a couple dozen books, get a gubment job, or start a "building better science corporation" and people will think I know something about building.
How many houses have you built Joe? How many books have you sold Joe? What are you a professional in then, writing books, or building reliable homes? I think I will take my advice from a reputable homebuilder, because building homes, and writing books about building homes are slightly different, you come from the number one mobile home country in the world, fucking Canada. Got to love people from the land of the worst houses, trying to tell us how to build while having zero experience.
I don't mean to sound all gushy and doe eyed, but god I love this guy. He speaks my language (science, physics, engineering), but it terms anyone can understand. I'm building a new house in 2 or 3 years, in a cold-ish area of the country (SE Michigan), and me thinks I will be looking deeper into the warnings and concern Dr. Lstiburek is preaching. It just makes sense.
Meanwhile, how do you pronounce your last name, Doc? I want to say "ill-stah-bur-eck". Is that right?
