Calling religions 'a lie' implies something negative. They may or may not be true, but that's not even relevant. The fact is, whether we like it or not, that billions of people find comfort in them. The problem however is that religions have been hijacked by f.e. the Vatican or the Islamic governments. These institutions are the problem; having taken religion from the people, making absurd rules about it, giving them ego's and radicalising them, inevitably resulting in conflicts.

Turkije zit in een democratische overgangsfase. Nu zit er een islamvriendelijke kabinet, daarvoor een nationalistische. Naar Nederlandse maatstaven zijn geen van beide constellaties perfecte politieke systemen, maar het is er economisch en democratisch beter gesteld dan in Rusland.

@Brulluhman Hitler was Katholiek, zelfs zeer gelovig. In Mein Kampf refereert hij regelmatig naar zijn geloof en de plicht die "vanuit god was opgedragen" om de wereld te ontdoen van de Joden was ook voor een groot deel religieus geinspireerd.
Ook in de politiek kreeg hij informeel steun van de Paus (Pius X) en formeel van de Katholieke gezinspartij, waardoor hij op democratische wijze aan de macht kon komen.
