I am an American and I will tell you America is becoming a shit hole because of the politicians. They treat the people as an ATM to do all the shit they want. If the people were to take back the country it would become a much better place.

Of course, I would suggest a stronger implementation of these levels of education to be the start. Increase literacy, you increase education, and thus conrtibute to the betterment of your society.

The standards are so poor because people complained the minorities didn't graduate at the same rate as Whites and Asians. My school district implemented a 2.0 GPA requirement to graduate but had to drop it due to complaints from parents of kids that would not meet it.
What about the teachers? Do they have any real authority? Are there any rules in the school that implement student discipline? Cuz that's the most popular shortcoming of American schools. I think the teachers should talk to the parents and explain to them that the lack of discipline will eventually cause their children to fail. And if they deny it, slap the statistics to their faces and ask them if they have any ideas.
The parents don't care. They just want their kid to graduate and will do what ever it takes to get them through. It doesn't matter if they have a 4.0 or 1.0 to them most of the time.
I'm not surprised. I expected this. So how do you convince a mob of non-intellectuals to get it straight with school? How does one reason with a fool to choose the wiser path?

The Unions, and liberals have destroyed our industrial base and the rest of the country. Everyone is so sensitive they are willing to make it easier instead of allowing people to fail.

I got my friend a job at the company I work for and when he got his first pay check and he saw all the taxes the government takes he got really upset. I told him that's why I am always talking about politics. It is so ingrained in our daily lives that we have to be involved.
I'll give you some good advice- You already have what it takes to go out into business for yourself-- get support from family ( live at home for 2 years if it takes it- if you have to sleep in you parents or a friends garage do it ) just decide on the field, get experience by working under someone who is doing as close to exactly what you want to do ,and then give a notice and start on your own immediately. I built a successful lawn service at age 17 w/ little experience

It's not bad but the ecnonomy crashing put a strain on the school system. A lot of classes have been cut back because there is not enough money.
I don't want to be an employee. I think after school I will work in field to gain experience and then try to start a small company.
