This is not a cult. You know, stupidity has no bounds, its a cult when you keep the enlightenment in, and not when they tell everyone to get out there and tell people bout it. If you actually had balls you would find out for yourself. Remember , cynical idiots like you have killed everyone ever to try to make the world a better place
@stuligin my friend's brother in law is part of it, but if it's NOT a cult, then tell some details about it? or do i have to go to one of their seminar's.
@quincee33 you really do have to go to get it. The set up they have is to pack a lot of information in a little bit of time, and most of the breakthroughs you have aren't even from the course material, its in other people sharing and you interacting, asking questions.
Wow, yes (sarcasm and eyeroll) a "Cult" in which I take empowering courses when I choose to and come and go as I please. Some of my friends/family have done the Forum, some have continued to other courses, some have stopped, some don't want to do it ever - and I'm ok with each scenario. The amount of energy these anti Landmark videos use could really be used for something that's actually positive for humanity, instead they are insulting to these whose lives it's had a huge positive impact on.
As to the money... well, it costs what it costs, and you can accuse any corporation of raking in money from innocent victims. These programs have been terrifically instrumental in my life, not in the realms of "belief" but in seeing possibilities to embrace. I will always be grateful for how Werner Erhard's commitment to his vision has contributed to my sense of wonder at human potential.
When I found I seriously had to go, I went to the door and explained my immediate need. Noone prevented me from leaving. But another individual felt trapped and he covered himself with his coat and urinated on the floor next to his chair. He "believed" he could not leave; I knew I was going to leave to do my business. It is a mindset in the individual person that creates the sense of a "cult".
I did Landmark's original "Training", workshops, seminars and "Six-Day" course in the '80s. I braced myself early on for mind control of any kind, but what I found was liberating. No one asked me to believe anything, but only to look at my experience of the present-tense quality of my life. There was never ANY coercion; however, some people did take basic ground rules as attempted domination. For example, we were told there were no bathroom breaks during the 3 hours session.
@ytcarol they just prefer you don't use the bathroom for information you might miss out on, if you can hold it, great, if you can't, go! no ones physically stopping you, nor do they want to, thats just cruel.
I went to a weekend of landmark education. I really enjoyed it, but I wouldn't say it's phenomenal. Pros: I wasn't forced to participate, the speaker was funny and made sense MOST of the time, I frequently challenged the speakers ideas and he always answered my questions directly, I left feeling refreshed, but I was glad to go home and sleep in! .....CONS : it is expensive , you have to wake up early, they manipulate language in a way that creates a sense of both community and isolation. I didn
Why was "Inside Landmark Forum" removed from YouTube? Threats from Landmark's attorney? They came from EST, which developed from Scientology, which is a money-grubbing cult. Landmark takes large groups of people and puts them in a controlled environment (no windows) for 15 hrs. per day with restroom visits restricted to allotted breaks, breaks down their egos, makes them dredge up past traumas while in a defenseless state, and then tells them how they should think about their experiences.
@GoneFreeriding I can assure you that the buildings (at least here) have windows. If yours don't, that's an issue to take up with the architect isn't it? Landmark don't build them. Also, people are free to go to the toilet, or get a drink of water any time they like.
@lordphantomau agreed, they rent the space they don't even own it. They try to get a convenient location in major cities so more people are able to find a way to attend.
Life teaches you a point of view. Is life a cult? Landmark forum offers you the opportunity to take control over your point of view instead of being a victim of the point of view that developed, influenced by the people in your life, as you grow up. If you want to keep your current point of view and you like the results you are getting, stay home. If you would like to see what might be available to you out of taking charge of your own point of view, you might want to try this.
What makes me laugh about all this "subversiveness" "pyramids structures" "money networks" and "control" is that if you inserted the word of a major business in place of Landmark it would all read well and make sense given a little leewey. So all major businesses are cults?
I acknowledge that Landmark may not be for everybody. But this whole 'cult' thing that gets banded about is utter balls. Although I concede £365 is a bit steep it is definately not a cult.
The term "CULT" is bantered around too much. Landmark is an off shoot and not to be compared with EST. EST changed my life and when I went to a Landmart event is was a poor and sloppy copy of Est. But it isn't a cult. Some people come to these events with a preconceived notion. It is silly and it comes from a closed mind. Anyway, don't be silly and compare it with Est.
Land Mark forum is very dangerous! It took some of my friends years to get out and when they did it too even more years to get over the damage done. Stay away!
@newmind1 did they do the whole curriculum? The results of Landmark are based of off your participation. any outcome is from your own actions. Its called responsibility for your life. Landmark is just a place, with an opinion, what you do with it, is up to you
@newmind1 they have a 3 step program, completely your choice. There was no Kool-aid, all I know is everyone I have completed this process with have grown to be extraordinary individuals, with a greater understanding, less stress, and have done wonderful things with their lives. Cult or not, I'm proud to have completed Landmark.
@newmind1 Years to get out of a three day course? Very strange. I just went home on the Sunday night. Are you sure your friends did the Landmark Forum?
Landmark operates with the highest level of integrity, Alain Roth is a Forum Leader and it is not his role to deal with the media, that is why Sophie McLean spoke with the media. This organisation is not a cult., people think it is a cult because of the extraordinary results produced in the space of three days. People add meaning to what happened, and then act like that meaning is real. Its happening right here and the meaning is all made up. Go Landmark, and thank you for making a difference.
Where can we find more on this video? Can you please share the whole interview/programme with us please? It is important, and it would help people a lot! Thank you!

utterly ridiculous, if Landmark is a cult then so is the Catholic Church, IBM and Walmart, not to mention Sesame Street...
