They have a speed limit when the cautions are out, and the safety car or pace car is there to take them around the track or stop them if necessary. It doesn't need to reach high speeds. Even the Camaros, Mustangs, and Corvettes that pace the NASCAR series aren't going to outrun those cars.

The driver of the BMW wasn't actually going that fast. Its just the safety car had just accelerated out from a stand still.

The driver of the safety car is entirely at fault. Entering like that on a blind corner. He should have not crossed the white line till further up the track.

Does seem odd though, as soon as he saw the BMW he gunned it.

Another case of a driver (the BMW's) leaving his brain in the paddock. It's each race driver's responsibility to watch for little things like yellow flags and safety cars. Annoying, I know, but there is a little bit more to racing than just going fast....

@msnovtue You serious? You know, yellow flags don't stop a race, only overtaking may be forbidden for a portion of the track. Second, you know the meaning of the continuous white line? (didn't think so) Third, even with overtaking not taking place, you may have other tactical priorities even under yellow that make you push (someone making or not making a pit stop etc.)

Le WTCC est vraiment un championnat excellentissime. C'est autre chose que la F1 ! Spectacle, dépassements, accidents, suspense, et le tout sans rester 3 heures devant son écran, 2 courses d'environ 25 minutes.

Pour rappel, en 2006 avant le week-end de Macao, dernier week-end de la saison, NEUF pilotes pouvaient être titrés champions !

Le jour où on aura neuf pilotes titrables avant la dernière épreuve en F1 ou dans un autre championnat important, faites-moi signe !

Cette courbe des tribunes est on ne peut plus dangereuse depuis qu'lis ont mis ce mur de 2m de haut.. bilan aucune visibilité... Il n'y a qu'à voir les vidéos d'autres accidents ds ce virage..
