bjj is NOT MMA. there are alot of bjj purists that have had numerous competitions under the belt and can still be put on their backs with a combo. no man is a machine. there are a lot of bjj players that forget their in mma and just lay there like they're in abu dabi and get fucked...with punches that is.

as a beginner you can choke out a higher belt...if the chance is there...there's no secret. but could you punch out a professional striker-FUCK NO.

anderson is amazing but maybe he needs an attitude check. if some said they saw holes my game my first thought wouldnt be to argue it would be to see what those holes are and if i can fix them. thats the only way to keep evolving and stay ahead of the game. otherwise its only a matter of time before someone smart figures out how to get anderson to the ground and use those holes to there advantage.

Maybe it's just a language or an understanding barrier kind of thing ? I'm sure Drysdale was saying he's 100% confident that Forrest would tap Anderson just to kind of promote how good of a fighter he is, but Anderson isn't much of a promoter. Maybe he thought Drysdale's comment was just a straight attack toward Anderson and his training camp, and Anderson took it as an insult.

I dunno though. This is nothing to get real upset over in my opinion.

i feel like drysdale didnt understand the extent to which his comments preceded, like hes down playing it, he didnt just point out holes in andersons game, he flat out said that hes 100% sure that forrest would submit him. i mean first off, in mma nothing is 100% sure to happen cuz anything can happen, second, anderson has been doing brazillian jiu jitsu much longer than forrest , hes a legit blackbelt and just cuz he was flat in the lutter fight doesnt mean that much, but thats just my oppinion

He is a BJJ expert, it has to get to the ground, if it did he felt Forrest had an advantage. I agree with something that was said before. Straight ground, much like ADCC, Drysdale would most likely be able to out perform and even submit Anderson. But as for an MMA fight Anderson would probably dominate Drysdale. But...I also think part of all this is up in the air due to ppl thinking Silva's ground game is weak. Many say his mount defense is weak yet I disagree. His arms allow him to create space to his opponent making it hard to get damage on Anderson.

Drysdale would smash anderson on the ground. 6x world jiu jitsu champion, 2007 addc absolute champion, over 90 tournament victors. He is one of the most respected jiu jitsu players in the world..

Yeah, that's very true. My point was, that it wasn't expected and was surprising. It is far more common that a great striker gets knocked out by a lesser one (Cro Cop against Randleman/Gonzaga.) It's just more rare that a guy with higher level BJJ gets subbed by someone lower.

I also think Shogun would fuck him up big time in a rematch. His BJJ is far underrated.

He might not last long in an MMA fight with Anderson, but in pure grappling he would school Anderson.
