You don't have to spend $250! I bought a retail copy of leopard at the University of California Long Beach book store for $99US. The install disk is 7.07GB.
You might be able to use partitions but it would make the job less complex to use a second disk drive. Not only that but this install depends on creating an EFI partition which could interfere with the Win7 System Reserved Partition. To boot to OSX the system will boot first to Darwin on the EFI partition and then to OSX. The darwin boot is very fast so you don't really notice it but it happens before OSX. Until you are familiar with this install process I would advise using one drive for OSX.
Yo dude , i dont know if you remember me or not , Anyway got some good news for you . get a snow leopard 10.6.3 retail and the newest boot 132 from that insanely mac thread . installed it today worked out of the box FOR EVERYTHING INCLUDING MY GPU ( my gpu is a nvidia 285 maybe thats why.)
i have a mac G4 if i format the hard-drive with it can i just use the boot 132 cd and that OS X cd what out all of that.....i am just useing the mac G4 to format that hard-drive...i have a ((intel i7 940))
It all depends on which OSX came with the G4. I think the i7 support was in later versions like 10.5.x. I am not an OSX expert. I just went out and bought a retail 10.5.6 DVD and the whole thing went rather smoothly considering all the steps I went through.
I dual boot Win7 with the darwin prompt. If you hit escape at the darwin prompt it will give you the option of entering another disk drive number. On my computer it's 82 and I can select windows by booting to System Reserved volume. It's not a fancy GUI and I've not tried using boot camp but that works completely fine. Make sure you install OSX on it's own physical HDD.

does leopard work smoothly?
davidzgame 2 years ago
It works fantastically smoothly. I use it mainly for final cut pro 7 and have no problems rendering long, complex projects.

ohh ok ill just buy a mac this pc costed me a fortune and i dont want to play around with ot
anyway why buy this expansive and heavy gear for a hackint0sh :P just buy a msi wind its 100% compatible

I think a $50 hdd is a little cheaper than a Mac but that's just me. An MSI wind is not capable to do the work I do with this machine. Good luck.
