To make a good movie from a long running cartoon like DBZ sometimes canon has to be ignored for the sake of a new audience. I am looking forward to this movie despite the fact that it isn't exactly like the anime. James Masterson is a great actor and I think he'll be a good Piccolo. It's most likely King Piccolo also, though they porobably won't refer to him that way, that is the character he represents.

By the look of the trailer, this movie is going to be crap.... just absolute shit. The movie will look nothing like the show did.

Everything in the manga and the anime worked. That's why it's so popular. The problem is, movie producers don't tend to have much respect for their source material. In general, movies based on tv shows have a habit of gutting everything about the show that was good and replacing it with nonsense. I mean, look at Inspector Gadget (if you can without throwing up.) Good cartoon, dreadful movie. Was that because it just didn't work, or was it miserably mistreated by movie executives?

The people who say it sucks are loyal fans who watched DBZ in videos in Japanese, they are true fans even before it came to America, they are angry at this flim which doesn't follow the original story line, made piccolo white.

The ones who will like it, are those kids who got to know it on cartoon network but don't really care about if it follows the original plot not. They just like its Dragon Ball.

This is a Hollywood version of DB targeting young fans of the anime who enjoyed the show on cartoon network. They aren't targeting the audience who were loyal fans of the anime since before it came to America.

This is why some people will hate this movie and some people ( American kids ) will love it.

I looked at the teaser trailer in DBTHEMOVIE website. I think this movie is going to dissapoint a lot of fans. This movie tells a story where Goku is a chosen one. WTF? Chosen one?
