i live in florida love bug season comes 1 time a year & its the most discusting thing (the only snow we get lol) Funny thing is they were invented by a group of dumb ass scientists! they only live like 75hrs they reproduce so much cause 1 female can make up to 350 babies. females get with a male then the male dies and she carries him around with her till she has her babies & dies or just plain out dies, the come for about 2 months every year!! plus they chip off the paint from your car :( yuck!
What is like in December? Are there still a lot of bugs then? I'm heading down there this month and wanted a heads up. Should I expect to freak out at all the bugs?
sorry, in my last comment I said they come once a year but they acctually come twice i think... they come around late April and May, and then again around September and October.
if u ever happen to encounter them again use water and a fabric softner to get them off your car so that u dont ruin the paint... just say thanks to University of Florida for creating these bugs and thier genetic expirement that gone wrong when they got loose... (they will never bite or hurt u though)
i wish there was something to control the nasty critters
