  • I liked Joey on Gospel Chops!

  • lol yeah mapex is really underrated....

  • what is that glass window in front of the drums for? i never understood that

  • That's so the drums don't sound incredibly loud, because the drums are mic'd and are coming through the sound system. It's to reduce the overall stage sound and bleeding into the other microphones on stage.

  • I'm pretty sure thats a mapex black panther, but i could be wrong....lol Just a note to any fellow drummers and musicians out there...... black panthers sound phenomenal for live performances and just down right heavenly when they are condensed like in this video..... Although im not so sure on the size of this one. Im guessing 13x 7?

  • amen brother,

i use a steel 10x5.5 for electronica and it is the sickest sound ever and plus it underpins everything price wise

wow, i sound like a mapex sales rep. lol :)

  • U R DUMBBBBBBBBBBBBBB!!!!!!!!!!

  • who cares he bumped it call that bump metal

  • ha hes practically doing death metal at around 0:50 :)

  • death metal.... you're kidding right?

  • am i kidding that i've heard and can appreciate death metal?

if so then my response is you can't dismiss a style of music without giving it a decent chance, just because it's outside what you're used to.

or am i kidding that it reminded me of death metal?

the way, and speed, hes going on the bass drum, along with everything else in the rhythm being straight ahead, reminded me of death metal drummers.

  • nothing is outside of what i'm used too because i'm a musician who plays different styles. but come on man death metal?

  • At:50 it does resemble death metal somewhat I see why you said that. Hamond he isnt wrong nor are you right. It's just that the both of you interpret this very differently.

  • well it does resemble death metal with tha blast beat he's playin n all you can lie. IT FITS lol. Sounds good 2 me

  • Wow...

  • man that was just crazy!! very very nice!!

  • DANG J.O. DONT DO IT TO EM LIKE THAT!!

  • Is the groove they're playing an actual song, or is it just shed chords?

  • just shed

  • Gospel rules

  • Dude is sick on the set!!! wow big ups!!

  • omg and that snare is a killer for realomg nice

  • this dude is sick. love the snare.. what kind of snare and snare head is that??

  • What?!!!!!! How?!!!!!

  • Gloria Deusss !!!!!!!

que benção de dons é essa..

    que Deus multiplique seus dons...

  • Joey Oscar!!!!!!

  • That snare is FIRE!!!

  • sick concept of the beat

  • that snare is a killerrrr

  • you real real good man

  • wat kind of snare head is he using

  • The drummer's name is joey oscar. He can definitely play pocket. Check him out on YouTube or on Micah Stampley's latest album.

  • u killin the set on 0:26 lol u on point

  • parabens que Deus possa sempre te abençoar sucesso

  • you didn't play one 1/4 note in the whole solo....play with feeling...not with lightning fast chops.

  • 1/4 note? I believe it's quarter note. My personal response to "feeling" is that quarter notes isn't neccesarily "feeling". I dont see people complaining about Eric Johnsons guitar solos, telling him he doesn't play with "feeling". I think this "feeling" term people use is a sorry excuse for talentless musicianship- much less the musicianship part. IT'S A DRUM SOLO, HE CAN JAM IF HE WISHES TO! I see people saying "Play with "feeling" all over the place. I thought I would give my opinion to it...

  • I think you failed to grasp what pc3geek105 was trying to say, though he/she didn't make it very clear. Lots of drummers, more in the jazz field, tend to solo and lose the beat but always end up back in time with the rest of the band. Gospel drummers usually play thier solos with the beat in mind, unless of course they're just playing on thier own.

  • So I guess it is safe to say he is not a jazz drummer then?

  • What justice 1/4 notes do for this solo?

  • thats what you call a solo. im pretty sure he could play pocket. i hope

  • and that'll be the difference between him and the drummers that actually make tyhe dough...I realize tis is a shed video...but during the gig...it's all about that discipline

  • Its a solo, stop hating Joey Oscar is very humble and anointed.

  • god bless u man, u have a gift man, u are so spectacular!!! be blessed, and alwayz play 4 god no matter what!!!

  • god bless you man. do you have any drum tips for me im just now starting out. my videos is. check it out ."playing at church part 2" thanks god bless

  • THIS IS MY FAVORITE OF ALL TIME!
