I can update your knowledge even further -this episode is series 5, Legion is series 6.

The difference is that Rimmer's uniform is blue when he's in hard light mode, but red in soft light mode (personally, I prefer his green uniform).

I had to look up this smeg-up after you mentioned it, and it's hilarious! I think it's a great moment, seeing Craig Charles reacting to his own acting--he's a bit surprised at himself for eating the cigarette!

But it's such a LISTER thing to do somehow; it's a nice reminder that Lister always was a scrapper.
