Most cities have a hospital in them and since most take place in a major city you get the required hospital supply/ medicine run scenes.

Heck, there are 4 or 5 of them by my house.

Hospitals are often featured in Zombie films for two reasons: 1) Because it`s a logical place for zombies to be. 2) Because hospitals generally make people nervous (there`s never really a fun reason to go to a hospital, aside from perhaps seeing your newborn child).

hospitals are normally full of zombies because people in it can't run fast or not at all, so they get caught easily. Also some zombies came from infectious desease that are in hospitals. I mean in movies of course, not in real life... lol! great building!

@blaarghe hospitals are great places to be in order to scavenge supplies. be sure to get there early with infection gear before all infected become zombies. Any medicine you come across is fair game but after a while the whole place will have been wiped clean.

@1337lolguyman but the most likely place for a zombie apocalypse to balloon out of control is a hospital with several Dr.s and nurses in the area of an infected (before it's known about the zombie outbreak) at any one time, and no weapons within easy reach that are capable of killing a zombie, one infected (presumed at the time to be a bite/assault victim rather than a zombie) would quickly become several, become dozens, become a big problem

Then you have the chance of doctors misdiagnosing infected people, not taking necessary precautions and end up getting bitten themselves. "The majority of first-wave zombies (in some cases 90%) consist of medical staff ..." (Brooks 2003) Also, remember that hospitals will be flocked with other people in a state of panic trying to get medical supplies. They may even be armed.

wow, without those big red H's, it could double perfectly as a plethora of buildings. Some that come to mind are: Ork Hideout, Rebel Guard / Chaos Cultists, obviously a Nurgle command post, and even as an advance infiltrated position for a "good" side army with lots of infiltrators. Elite guard comes to mind, as do Scouts. Very nice A++!
