  • I'm a rocker from the '50's, never heard a better band than The Weddoes, never a better rocker than David Gedge.

    Norm

Gedge- "At the Edge of the Sea" is thus August. Go!!!

  • I DON'T THINK ANY CURRENT BANDS COULD PLAY STUFF LIKE THE 80'S BUT THE SAD THING IS THERE ARE BANDS FROM THE 80'S THAT CAN'T PLAY THE SAME NOW A DAY'S. I AM AN 80'S KID BUT I NEVER HAVE HEARD OF THESE GUY'S TILL TODAY. THIS REMINDS ME OF MTV120 MIN WHEN THEY SHOWED VIDEO'S AND I WOULD SEE OLD BILLY BRAGG OR ROBIN HITCHCOCK.

  • Wonderful to see this footage of a brilliant song, still means so much after all these years.

  • Not seen the Weddoes since the early 1990's but Dave Gedge never looks any bloody older! I think he is 50 this year!

  • On record i'd go for Suck or I'm not always so stupid. Live it would have to be the first time I heard 'Take Me' back in '88. Still remember where I was standing who I was with and how Dave and Grapper ran up and down the stage in the outro.

  • @bekbek78 there not the greatest but then again im a habitual lier lol of course there the greatest!!! "its a gas" has gotta be the best for me

  • i fell sorry that probably i ll never see them live. i live in brazil and they could come here or me until them...

  • The man is now 24 years into his recording career and is still at the top of his game. Think of what McCartney, Dylan, Jagger and Elton were doing 24 years into their career and then tell me the Wedding Present aren't the greatest recoding artists of all time!

  • @bekbek78 Well stated. Perhaps John Peel knew what he was talking about? The Wedding Present and The Undertones? Uh, yeah!

  • Saw them at Fibbers earlier this year and they're still at the top of their game. Dave Gedge hasn't lost a thing over the years. Quote of the night - "When the Kings Of Leon write a song that good come and let me know" - Gedge. I LOVE The Wedding Present. Still the best Indie band ever.

  • yeah !

  • Sublime!

  • A living LEGAND!! X X

  • Havent seen them in 20 years or so, in England. Now Im sitting here drunk in the North Georgia mountains watching every single Wedding Present video on youtube.Weird world huh?

  • Amen mate, they'll never leave ya!

  • i'm lucky i saw them last night in boston, ma--- awesome show-- it's the first time i've seen them in 13 years! david gedge is a very nice guy-- way friendly and down to earth

  • I saw them the other night in Pontiac MI and it was just like this except all plugged in with electricity. They truly ARE the greatest live band on earth, believe it or not. And i know. I've been watching them since the early 90's.

  • saw them back in december on the george best anniversary tour. not seen them since bout 92. the only man who can make me laugh and cry at the same time. this is a great vid.

  • Oh this just made my day. Been a fan for 21 years now, and I just never grow tired of songs like this one!

Good to read all your stories from Canada and stuff. I saw them live here in Valencia in november 1988, and the gig poster now hangs on the walls at home....

    (

  • glad to see i'm not the only one that's looking old these days davie boy.

    when we were boys eh!!!

  • To those very special people I went to all those Weddoes gigs with - "Just don't forget you ever knew me". Hi Pronchias, Gedge was a godsend to us all. The newbies are doing a decent enough job, don't dis them people, no newbies no Weddoes in these times.

  • gedge get rid of those two crashers beside you pronchias fuck off

  • what did I say to offend you? Like you I rather like Gedge and the Wedding Present. Brilliant stuff. Would love to buy ya a beer and chat, but I suspect we live on different continents. Ah well, we have this lovely music to bind us.

  • David - stop writing about my life!! Genius :)

  • This band was a god-send if you lived in a praire town in Canada in the '80s. Travelled 150 miles to buy George Best, on a wagon train, fighting off killer gopbhers and Mennonites.

  • Bet you have walked a million miles... Great band!!!

  • Bet you have walked a million miles... Great band!!!

  • @pronchias Well done, fellow Canuck! I thought you had Doukhobors out there, though? Sadly, the place where this was filmed, Criminal Records in Toronto, is out of business. Also, the Weddoes' bassist in this clip, Terry de Castro, is no longer in the band. David Lewis Gedge rules.

  • gedge is god.

  • Love this

  • thats all in the past, there, i've said it now, at last

  • Ah brassneck. I love that lead guitar!

  • excellent vid, still got the magic. are those his kids?

  • haha, no, thats the lineup at the moment. although normally a drummer.

saw them in cardiff last week. amazng show.

  • Yeah!

  • Great quality. Top job.

  • I love this song.

    I <3 David Gedge.
