judas Maccabaeus is such a wonderful work. Bur McGegan is f....... it up with this choir. He did the same with "Susanna" . Such a shame!
The same can be said about Harnoncourt and his recording of "Belshazzar". The English choirs (Monteverdi choir, Choir of New Chollege etc.) are the only choirs that really can capture the "englishness" of Handel's oratorios. German choirs are especially dreadfull at this (Naxos' "Solomon" springs to mind). The Bach-style is NOT appropriate!

As usual McGegan uses an amature choir and terrible acustics doing the music a disservice.
