Although neither of the actors were professionally trained in martial arts, the choreographer did a great job for the ending fight. What was impressive is Riggs almost put the albino SOB asleep in a leg triangle choke which was a trademark move of Brazilian Jujitsu.  UFC didn't even come out at that time, but the fight scene choreographer obviously knew its effectiveness on the ground.

Most of the action movies he produced, you will see the main characters and the main bad guys with Asian martial arts expertise. For example, the main characters in Lethal Weapon, Road House, Commando, Matrix, etc. etc. For another example, the main bad guys in Lethal Weapon 2 and 4, Die Hard, Demolition Man, etc And the leg triangle isn't only Brazilian Jujitsu move, it's Japanese jujitsu move also.

Although I'm martial arts background and although I'm a big Hong Kong action movie fan, THE ORIGINAL LETHAL WEAPON IS THE KING OF ALL THE ACTION MOVIES. Lethal Weapon 2 was alright. Lethal Weapon 3 and 4 were just SO SO.

I like this move much better than the Die Hard. Die Hard was just a good action movie with funny jokes. BUT THIS MOVIE IS ONE MORE THING THAN JUST GOOD ACTION AND COMEDY. IT'S ---> THE SADNESS. Listening to this beautiful sad theme and watching him in front of his wife's grave (@the end of the movie), I almost cried. I CAN WATCH THIS MOVIE AGAIN AND AGAIN.
