  • What's the rush, lovely song but you seem to be afraid of it but what do I know I enjoyed it oneway or the other. Thanks for the post love to know what Thompson would have made of it saw him do live in Dublin a few years ago and I have found all other versions [even the original] pale since.

But then to each their own

  • jasus - those chords look complicated - i can just about play it on a guitar

    great stuff man

  • I want to see someone do it darker, rather than lighter than Thompson. If that's possible.

  • Nice version :0)

    Well done.

  • bouzouki

  • I love your take on this song, what is that instrument?!? It sounds great =)

  • I first heard Arthur O'Brien with the Navigators doing this song down at O'Reilly's a few months ago and I fell in love with it! This version is great!

  • oh my word i found it!

i listened to this song years and byears ago when i was really little. use to liove it

i thought it was by a band called 'hoover the dog'?

  • The version I first heard was by Christy Moore. I later found out it was written by Richard Thompson.

  • but i swear. my friend lent me a cd with this song and a whole other bunch of folk songs. it was called 'hoover the dog' maybe it was a compilation

i dunno, i could only have been about 7

  • music celtic is beatiful

  • Excellent!!!

  • alot more Celtic sounding than Thompson's, which isn't a bad thing at all. Great Job!

  • I love Christy's version as well. This one is a bit faster. I like the mellow quality when it's slowed down.
