This video is more of a Hypnotizing experiment because:
Everybody who commented, stating that this video isn't advanced at all, actually had the same mentality you did, acting all high and proud of oneself.
this is actually the first basic rule I learnt myself when I started playing sudoku years ago.. if you don't know this technique, then you're bellow basic
I just learned how to play today, and this was an easy puzzle to solve? and this tip is like the most basic tip? So i should be like a pro already? :S
@swordofisis true that, unless ur an idiot, this is pretty obvious, i dont remember quite well but i think i figured this out on one of my first sudoku puzzle
this is called a double scan which isnt needed since the 2 in 2nd box eliminates the 3 spots in row 2 spots 4,5,6 and the 2 in the last column eliminates the 2 in row 2 spot 9.
This is fine, but really there are no golden tips for Sudoku. However, it is nice to know that nobody else knows something I don't know about this happy frustrating game :-).
i got it.. look at the upper left box.. look first at the upper right.. u will see.. you can put 2 any of the first row but not on the other squares.. go to upper left.. there are 3 squares above.. you can't put 2 there cuz there is one on the upper right box, so you can only put it on the 2nd row
good tip, but I know it already, nevertheless i gave you 5 stars :D
and those idiots dont know what they are posting you just said that its a tip for "advanced" players, this means that those players have medium skills and this tip is perfect for such players.
he never said that its the ultimate tip to solve every sudoku
fuck what all these other people are saying, i thought that was a very great tip, i just started playing and will definitely help me with the harder ones i do, thanks for the video.
well, actually you're right! since you're beginning, this should be a really good tip for u. but to be frank, this is not a very advanced tip. i was expecting a much more advanced tip. sry
lolz veryyyyy basic + if im not that wrong that movie is called double scanning.. i found that on my own when i was new to sudoku and got stucked on one puzzle.
well, easy one but you made it look complicated... nice effort, but it's easy to find out by everyone. what's more - it must be a very particular placing of digits to make your "tip" a useful one (this shown on the film doesn't really happen very often)
it's a good tip for all users, advanced or not. i think it's pretty much basic for those who play it frequently.
here's a REAL tip: solve according to the easiest block, row, or column. the ones that have the most slots already solved. then work your way as you adapt to the bigger picture. after a while, you'll see what goes where and your times will keep getting better.
This is really basic stuff. It's one of the first things you learn playing Sudoku, somply because of its logic. Advanced? Try Swordfish, X-wing, or any of the other truly advanced techniques out there to help you solve truly challenging puzzles. This puzzle wasn't very challenging.
It is a very good tip. Even though I have already figured this one(among others) out about a year ago, all of you getting down on it are just naive to think that because you figured it out easily doesn't mean that it IS easy to figure out. Get over yourselves.
Hey... I already knew that. Bottom line. Take a look at row 2. The "2" can't go into a cell in box 2, neither in box 3, since the 2 in the bottom blocks it... so it has to be in [1,2].. [x,y]-system. (PS, I know Mensa is using an [y,x]-system to explain where a square is....
Process of elimination. I think I was starting to think this way. I'm definitely going to try this. Great explanation. Very clearly explained. Thanks.
This is a nicely done and well-explained video, but this is hardly an advanced tip. This is more of an advanced-beginner to intermediate strategy. When I think "advanced" I think of jellyfish, Gordonian rectangles, X-wing... definitely not this.
But again, this was very nicely done, and superbly explained. Great job.
What do you mean Gordonian rectangles? or xwing or jellyfish. Im an above average soduku player but im trying to learn advanced tips but i dont know where to find them.

Not even close to advanced. I taught myself this technique after doing sudoku for about a week.
A trickier and equal in helpfulness technique is called the 'naked pairs' or 'naked triples.' Look it up and study it for a bit.
