On this video I had just 1gig of files on a usb flash drive, now I permanently attached a 240gig 2,5"-hard disk drive which is filled with 100gig or so and it doesn't take longer to initialize and also folder navigation is as quick as shown here.
The function that takes a bit longer (maybe 3 secs) is when you hit play after selecting a song. And quite slow is using the [previous track]-button while playing a song for some reason ([next track] works immediately).
Thanks, that's good to hear! I have the iDA-X200 and it's great with my 16 GB USB drive except every time I turn on the car it displays BANKING for about 5-6 minutes. It goes through all the files and folders and indexes the ID3 tags (artist, title, etc.) which is pointless because you can't access your music immediately, you have to wait until it finishes. So I am going to exchange it for the X100. I appreciate the info, thank you!
Does yours remember the last song when hooked up to the hard drive? Mine does with a thumb drive but does not remember when an external hard drive is connected. Is there a way to make it work that way???
No same here. This is because the moment the radio turns on the hard drive is not available yet, the thumb drive is. Thats why I've changed to flash memory by now... :/
Thanks for posting this. If you have many gigabytes of music on your USB device, how long does the X100 take to read them? Can you access them immediately?
nice taste in music and nice choice of head unit.

Can the USB connection handle powering a USB powered 2.5in HD or do you need an external power source?

Does it support folder tree structure, as in folders inside folders just like on a computer, or does it list all folders as flat?
