    *****

  • you guys sound great!

  • Thanks!

  • love the way you keep coming back to the central melody... making it sweeter every time! you're great!!

  • Thanks!

  • great little improvisations, guys *****!

  • Amazing stuff, you guys...

  • Bass sounds really good to me, even with my small subwoofer. Sweet cover Jake, very nice band...

  • Thanks!

  • need more of that bass in the mix!! 0-3:00. Excellent

  • Hi and thanks! Make sure you are listening through a good system or headphones, not your laptop speakers. The music has been carefully mixed for CD release and sounds real good by similar standards. Give it a try and let me know what you think.

  • Hi Jake...Breck here.

What's the rig setup, here....def, sounds like flatwound strings, on this one. that is a real warm tone. What kind of amp are you playing through?

Are you using the Ibanez on this one, too?

    Regards,

    Breck

  • Hello and thanks for the nice comments! No, not flats, hate 'em, they feel all wrong! Rounds all the way... No amp either, going direct, that's why we all have headphones on, I wanted good separation and control so I can use the tracks for a CD (one day...). Yes, the Ibanez Artcore AG75.

  • Muy buen cover!!! felicidades. Me recordo a la version de Allan Holdsworth de la misma cancion ...

  • Hey Jake,

Sounds Grea.We played together a few times with my uncles at the Village Cafe in Dearbron.Great trio !Is that Paul Brown ondrums?

  • Wow, that must have been a long time ago... Is that place still there and do they have music? That's George Bennett playing on the video. Thanks for the comment!

  • i only subscribe to two people on youtube; you are one of them because you always deliver! thanks for all the great tunes man

  • I was watching your "The Wind Cries Mary" interpretation, then... WOW! A trio!

    Cool...

I love trios, Hendrix Experience, Eletric JimiLand (jimicolors 'user' on youtube), and now you guys...

  • Thanks! I'm not sure I'm worth mentioning in the same sentence with those guys, but I certainly appreciate the kind comment!!

  • Hehe... I understand...

  • Wow! That's amazing. I've heard a lot of Beatles covers but Beatles lounge style? That's a really creative take on it. Good job!

  • My... I haven't heard anyone like that for quite a while. I'm astounded. I'm talking about the music, of course. It's the quality of the expression that counts, not technique (which is a means). It's been a couple of days since i first spotted your videos and i say: you're up there, you're one of today's jazz guitar greats. If you ever get the due recognition, don't forget to mention «actually it was some nerd from Lisbon to declare it in first place» lol

  • Thanks, that's very kind of you! Please make sure to subscribe so you'll get notices when I have new videos.

  • Man what a great sounding trio! good job guys, this is really kewl!

  • Where is the fucking audience!?

haha that was awesome, great trio!

  • Fenomenal!!! Grande!! 5*****

  • Yeah!! great as allways!!! What a trio!! Keep on swinging!! All the best.

  • magnifico! great job jake, loved it. 5s

  • well, what to say? instead of playing "stella" or "all the things" for the 1000th time... great idea, great musicianship. i subscribed to your channel and i take a look at it everyday.

jake, i noticed you use an ibanez AG75 (another appraisal could begin upon this theme...). but you have a gibby 175, too. how would you compare the two guitars? apparently you prefer the "modest" artcore, or am i wrong?

    all the best

    pedro

    rome, italy

  • Thank you, I appreciate the comments very much. I actually do prefer the Artcore most of the time because it has a slightly smaller, more comfortable body. Also, the tone is more even throughout the neck whereas the Gibson has some sweet spots and some dead spots, although I'm sure that can be fixed with the next fret job. Thanks again!

  • Top notch.

  • I could listen to you and your mates producing this music for hours and hours and never get tired!

Once again the absolutely smoothing interaction between the instruments and each single performance in itself are just a pleasure to ears, brain and heart!

    Thank you for sharing!!!

    :-)

  • Wonderful job

  • Amazing drumming on this one.

  • A++++++++++++++++++++++++++

  • Wow, absolutely beautiful Jake. So tasteful and interesting

  • portentious splendor

  • Beautiful

  • Wow. Straight ahead or what. Been listening for some time and enjoy everything but this is the best yet. Keep it up.

  • Thanks! That's exactly the idea, to play these kind of tunes as straight ahead jazz thus creating the "new standards". We'll see if it sticks...

  • I agree with that exactly Jake! New standards are exactly what we need - my duo partner and I are trying to develop a similar theme. Thanks for some really great interpretations, so worth listening to.
