  • BUT DOES IT BLEND

  • That armor can survive a grenade :P

  • 01:13 I guess this is before they had dummies?

  • Why won't they sell dragon skin to the public?

  • This stuff is crap. It failed Army testing, then after the owner of the company whined, it failed Army testing again, with very close Congressional oversight. It failed the USMC testing that was independent. It fell apart in heat and when exposed to things like hydraulic fluid (which is common in aircraft and armored vehicles). It even failed some NIJ testing.

  • It stops fucking 7.62x51mm !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You people are funny....

  • for level 50+ warriors.

  • Its not a corporate issue, the binding on the scale slips and it cant stop rounds that enter from the side

  • owned that corrupt us millitar wont allow it :P

  • @superjboy Do you know how much these things cost? A LOT! Try and outfit 1,000,000 men with it... and in the heat the disks it is made of fall to the bottom and it becomes a piece of fabric. That's why Pinnacle doesn't make it anymore.

  • runescape!

  • @EEmieLL ?

  • Why can't they make this for the whole body? If I was in Afghan I'de want it to cover my whole body, apart form my eyes obviously. You'de boil, but still, you wouldn't die by being shot. =P

  • @Arostyle380

you also wouldn't be able to out-run a rocket propelled grenade, or move fast for any situation in general. You'd also have a much harder time walking over large distances which we all is what the infantry mostly does. So think tactically.

  • @Arostyle380 but think how heavy you would be

  • @razingking You would adapt and would you rather be free and light and able to move faster but be more likely to be killed by the bullet? OR invinsible, from bullets anyway...

  • @Arostyle380 But you couldn't move very much at all... I mean there is A LOT of mountains in Afgan. Plus, an RPG could potentially get a direct hit on you if you cant dive out of the way fast enough. Also, you would have LOTS of killed men by heat stroke and dehydration.

  • @Arostyle380 true but you would only be invincible for the hundred meters or so you can walk before you keel over lol. and could you imagine how messed your knees would be? if you fell from some where you would be wreaked. it would be a like a three man job to get it on, how would you go to the toilet?, and what if you have to lift your self over something?. its a good idea and i think it will be possible some day but not to day in my eyes

  • 1:11 HOLY FUCK! That's a person there shooting at!

  • Dear santa......

  • @TerribleThree Ha ha ha! Brilliant mate. (=

  • instead of providing this excellent armor to US troops, Politics steps in and tries to slander the dragon skin armor.

  • it won't save you from 155 shells rigged to blow on your humvee while on combat patrol.

  • still not as good a chuck norris skin

  • are these legal to buy?

  • @almost6879 depends on where you live.

  • 1:12 lol crazy bastard was a test dummy good thing the armor passed and the othere guy didnt miss

  • i love Dragon Skin

  • too bad it FAILED most of the tests conducted by the Army.

works good fresh out of the factory, but drip some oil or gas on it, and the disks fail. Heat it up, and the disks fall off. Drop it, and the disks break.

Not to mention the Interceptor Large IOTV's weigh 35 lbs, while the DS weighs...48 lbs.

don't think the Army arbitrarily denied DS because of anything other than proven facts.

  • @Konaboy7 except that the army failed it before they even bothered to test it. If it was such crappy armor, why are soldiers paying out of pocket for it?

  • @audallas841

because media bias can manipulate the opinions of many. Watching things like this video instead of reading the actual test reports would obviously lead one to THINK this is far superior to the Interceptor. You can even find the results on google, just bypass the media bullshit.

You don't need to test something if it's own creator says it's 13 pounds heavier than an already heavy system

  • @Konaboy7 I used it in Iraq myself, it's heavy sure, but I'm willing to carry around 13 more pounds to keep myself alive. It stopped a round from an SVD cold and saved my life. I've dropped from standing to prone and nothing broke. It does what it's supposed to.

  • @Konaboy7 It never failed testing and that is the fact! Now Exposed to heat not failed. This are just facts. Was never tested by Army! Was in fact tested by Military channel and passed many rounds. When weighted it was XLarge dragon skin VS Medium Army vest! Why you so sure that Army tested it when there is no proof of it?I want our troops safe dont you?You said spill gas on it and oil and disks fall off? Drop it Disk brake?hahhahaahha u are amazing and where u find this facts? Dragon Skin=BEST

  • @02011982 Oh gee maybe it's because Dragonskin is 8+ times more expensive?

  • @Failcard Who cares how expensive it is? We pay for bombs which cost 1mil each, why not pay for Dragon Skin west? Our troops should have best gear available!

  • @02011982 ya lol

1 bomb = 200 pairs of armor (if theyre exactly 5000$ each)

i have no clue of the price though so.. ya..

besides why do they care? they have millions in EXTRA inventory that they dont use

  • @02011982 cant hae the best of every thing...and life is cheap

  • @02011982 Umm, the Army did test it and published it's findings during the Congressional hearings. There is a video of it being tested, failing, and Mr. Murray the owner of pinnacle there himself clearly in the video.

It was L interceptor vs. XL Dragonskin. 720in of coverage vs. 743in.. 28lb vs. 47.5lbs. Here is a pdf of the testing. professionalsoldiers(dot)com/forums/showthread.php?s=7d4d55bea92a4047f3e4dd818a684133&t=14523

  • @02011982 PEO published the report. It's publicly available on the Internet. 1st and second round penetrations, on not one, but FOUR vests out of 8 tested.

  • @audallas841

Joes buy a lot of shit that they think is better than issued, even if/when it's total crap. Everyone else has something better than you were issued. It's why some Aussies hate their AUG and think the M4 is the best rifle, while I know many that think the opposite. It's why people waste money on lower quality parts for their M4s that fall apart.

  • do you think you can buy dragon skin if you ahve conections from a arms delaer or somthing? maybe if you cant get it now you can get it in few years on black market or from mafia???

  • I really can't believe dragon skin was rejected.

  • @Videos4USArmy soldiers can still purchuse it out of there own pockets which a majority of them do

  • @TheRealestout212 Uh, no we don't. We have better things to spend our money on than body armor that falls apart.

  • thank for for those people who love and help our troops, god bless our country.

  • @HILL1776BILLY

I wish George Carlin would still be alive to comment on this one !...

    Sigh .....

  • @HILL1776BILLY god dont bless peapole who kill peapole oh and god is not real !!!!!!

  • @polyz911

    Fuck you.

  • @fishypirhana246 YOU MAD ? brainwashted fuck

  • @polyz911

Oh, I'm atheist. I just don't appreciate your hating on the men who serve in our military.

  • @fishypirhana246 Women! Dont forget the women! haha

  • @BlackOpJ45

    Oh true. Good call haha.

  • @polyz911 You should learn to spell, dumb-ass fuck.

  • @HILL1776BILLY: help your troops do what, invade and bomb defenseless Middle Eastern

countries and walking door to door, knocking people's homes down and terrorizing

the local population? If that is the help they need, I think they are doing perfectly fine on their own.

    Satan bless your country.

Seems like patriotism has made people blind to the crimes of their own country.

  • @hegadem that is the sad truth of what does happen. I would think we support the troops for their intentions in joining the military and the sacrifices they make. The people giving the orders to do such things is a different issue.

  • @hegadem Your talking as if we kill the innocent as well. I'll have you know that we are eliminating the extremists in that country who were planning on bombing our country even farther than the twin towers. God bless our country, because we're achieving peace through superior firepower. Amen.

  • @hegadem, yes we enjoy going door to door killing whole families wantonly. However then did we end up with such a low number of dead civilians in Iraq? I'd think if we actually did that, with all of our technology we could do better than even the wildest estimates, (1 million). After all we have so much technology how could anyone escape?

Or maybe, we're a professional fighting force that attempts to distinguish it's targets unlike certain organizations actively targeting civilians.

  • clarification, the 1 mil estimate includes the people who died in the 90's due to our lack of physical intervention and starvation from the economic sanctions.

  • To all this vest is Over done finished and now Pulled form NIJ so wear it at your own risk or desire...not approved ---HISTORY.

  • My opinion it's just History repeating history those who can afford Good Armor just like in Midieval days got the good stuff and thsoe with littel money got the not so good stuff.

  • Anyone currently in the U.S. military can afford Pinnacle Armor. (Costs about 10k) *Cough* 20k sign-on bonus plus 10k endangerment of life bonus *cough*

  • My MOS doesnt get a sign on bonus if you are active duty. 15U, thats CH47 repairer...google it. although we make up for it in money once we go civilian side with the exp and also have secret clearance because we are aircraft mechs

  • wouldn't dragon skin be considered soft body armor?

  • well not realy, hard body armor is armor with a solid plate to protect the body. Dragon skin uses multiple solid plates. Rather than kevlar for example, which is tightly woven, clothe like material.

  • It's only heavier in greater coverage options. A 10X12 insert (which is the same size rifle coverage that is currently issued) weighs 4.95 lbs. That's 10% lighter than a SAPI seramic plate, and way better ballistic quality.

  • It's too heavy for general purpose use.

  • The wierd thing is, there is this near impenetrable, surprisingly affordable, relatively light body armour available now, but the US will not give it to it's troops. Its probably because of business contracts with the guys who make Interceptor (or the fact that people who retire from the us army are offered work there upon retiring. Using another companies armour would mean retird soldiers and fat cats wouldnt get their money).

  • that armor is awesome
