  • Oh God, you can hear Sauron laughing at the end. ._.

  • omg sauron speak's behind gandalfs voice

  • I love gimli lol

  • ash nazg durbatuluk, ash nazg gimbatul, ash nazg tarakatuluk, agh burzum ishi krimpatul

  • @dondonlaurena i dont understand this scene...gandalf speaks what is writen on the ring or what?? very bizzare...

  • @alexkrat92

He's speaking the purest form of the Black Speech to ward Boromir from touching the ring. The speech written ON the Ring.

A being like Gandalf uttering such dark words is enough to blacken the sky, shake the earth and fill people with fear.

Funnily enough, even Tolkien disliked speaking pure Black Speech, and he MADE the language.

  • Interesting. If you've read the silmarillion then I suppose it makes a bit more sense. I'm not convinced the second voice is Sauron so I'm more inclined to believe it was Melkor and go with the @countercruel. I do however disagree that boromir was saying anything of real significance. He was just being a prat. :)

  • @Ceryniful True XD but men do have minor magical abilities so im not crossing it out :)

  • Sauron is saying:

Shre nazg golugranu kilmi-nudu, Ombi kuzddurbagu gundum-ishi, Nugu gurunkilu bard gurutu, Ash Burz-Durbagu burzum-ishi, Daghburz-ishi makha gulshu darulu.

Translation: Three rings for the Elven-kings under the sky, Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone, Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die, One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne, in the land of Mordor where the shadows lie.

But I don't know when he stop. Sorry by the terrible english, i'm brazilian.

  • What is/who is that second voice and what are they saying in mordor?

  • @YOg0sUn It was Melkor (Morgoth) the first dark lord before sauron, his spirit is bound to that speech and so you can hear his spirit.

  • @Countercruel Also it seems like gandalf is countering 2 spells, one from Melkor and one from boromir. these are just guesses as even the books he explains little about boromirs (command speech)

  • @YOg0sUn Sauron's voice wat he's saying? dunno

  • Ash nazg durbatulûk, ash nazg gimbatul,

  • what gandalf is saying is this: Ash nazg durbatulûk, ash nazg gimbatul, ash nazg thrakatulûk, agh burzum-ishi krimpatul. wich is translated: One ring to rule them all, One ring to find them, One ring to bring them all, And in the darkness binds them

  • Elrond was like "Oh not this shit again..."

  • As awesome as this is, Christopher Lee saying it is so much more menacing and scary!

  • What is the response saying, Is it the ring responding or the Dark Lord Voldemort?

  • Gandalf is Dovahkiin, it all makes sense now!

  • everybodys judt like....not cool gandalf...not cool

  • I can't help but laugh at the facial reactions at everyone in this clip. This what it seems they're saying:

Gandalf: I'm gonna be a badass, what are you gonna do about it Elrond?

Boromir:*looks like he just got in trouble* No, i swear i didn't do it I'm sorry

Gimli: Shit, i wasn't concentrating, don't know what's going on, just grab the axe and panic

Elrond: Ah, he's doing it again, didn't he learn from that time with the badger......

Legolas: Stuff this shit, I'm going to sleep.

  • What Gandalf is saying is :

    Sit down asshole!

  • @jarkko240 yes... he was still like i want it. tho.

  • Ash nazg durbatulûk, ash nazg gimbatul,

Ash nazg thrakatulûk agh burzum-ishi krimpatul.

One ring to rule them all, one ring to find them,

One ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.

  • @JDela10 thank you!!!!!

  • Ash nazg durbatulûk, ash nazg gimbatul, ash nazg thrakatulûk agh burzum-ishi krimpatul.

  • Wow, Gimli needs to stop eating double bean buritos.

  • gandalf shut up, i cant hear what the dark lord is saying

  • GANDALF MY HEAD HURTS!!!

  • people in the town be like WTF!!@_@

  • Hahahha epic Elrond face palm

  • only Sauron dislikes cuz he lost the ring :D

  • the black speech of mordor is never to be spoken. (lotr crazy!!!) :)

  • @stylincowgirl1 oops...ummmmm too late lol

  • @boggyman4321 XD lol

  • creepy!!!my skin crawled...

  • translation

Gandalf: one does not simply... touch the ring in Rivendell..

this was ofcourse a joke, feel free to troll I don't care since I know that I made some of you laugh.

  • @AzariahKyras i dont think you did sir

  • Ash nazg durbatulûk, ash nazg gimbatul,

Ash nazg thrakatulûk agh burzum-ishi krimpatul.

One ring to rule them all, one ring to find them,

One ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.

  • @Yaalah thank you for lyrics but do you know? what is the other voice says?

  • WOW!!! MY FAVORITE SCENE! GIVE GANDALF THE RING AND LET HIM RULE! oh mithrandir, weilder of the ring of power i will bow at your feet, save us from the dark lord in the east! rise up Olorin! rise up!

  • Boromir was like " Woah better chill out"

  • It is a cool scene, but unless you're already a fan of the series, you would really have no idea what the hell just happened. An extra bit to the scene to explain it would have helped it make more sense.

Too bad they didn't fix the weird sync around :14

  • One of the coolest scenes in the movie. Wish it wasn't cut from the theatrical version!

  • Ya'll elves just got trolled.

  • can anyone tell me what sauron is saying? i understand gandalf is saying, but what about sauron?

  • @dasredtelephone sauron is saying something here????

  • It's such a perfect touch how it starts to get dark in Rivendell and the space around Gandalf's lips begins to blacken.

  • Boromir dislikes this vid

  • ............. and why did peter jackson leave this out exactly?

  • @Hunkyfish20 Its in the extended edition

  • @Hunkyfish20 regardless, neither scenes were in the book, i love the movies, don't get me wrong, but jackson could've fit a lot more in if he wasn't so set on changing parts of the story, and working on the erowyn/aragorn love interest, which wasn't a big theme in the books

  • @jinzodude this scene was in the book in (The Fellowship of the Ring, Book II, Chapter II, The Council of Elrond, page 249-247; "and this i have read: Ash nazg durbatulûk, ash nazg gimbatul, Ash nazg thrakatulûk agh burzum-ishi krimpatul.' The change in the wizard's voice was astounding. suddenly it became menacing, powerful, harsh as stone. a shadow seemed to pass over the high sun, and the porch for a moment grew dark. All trembled, and the Elves stopped their ears."

  • @AlecZTV What is exactly happening. I like it, he is speaking in the black speech and the ring is responding to him???????

  • Comment removed

  • @Hunkyfish20 If they had kept all the amazing stuff in, all the awsome deleted scenes, the movie would have been so maginicent that the ecocomy would collapse and the sun would burn up.

  • @Hunkyfish20 Elrond and Legolas made faces like that because these words were physically painful to any Elf who heard them (as well as any other words of that language), probably because of the power and the shadow they brought.

  • @Hunkyfish20 because this would freak out all harry potter fans out there :)) sauron's dark tongue would crumble to dust hogwarts, you did notice how the ground started to tremble and the sky darkened during sauron's black speech

  • @Hunkyfish20 extended edition bitch get with it

  • Elrond was like WTF gandalf!

  • @JedBonjwa In the novel he rather shakenly says "No one has ever dared to utter that tongue in Rivendale, Gandalf the Grey."

To which Gandalf responds, "Nevertheless I do not ask your pardon. Soon that tongue will be heard throughout Middle Earth."

    Gandalf is awesome.

  • @knightofavalon86 .. Gandalf is awesome for sure.

Theoden and Haldir are my fave characters in the series. sux they have to die though.

  • @JedBonjwa theoden is a total penis

  • Boromir just got served.

  • i really wonder why both the elves (elrond&legolas) closed their eyes in like agony when they hear the black speech.

  • @SeBBaSs841 elves are sensitive to it.

  • @SeBBaSs841 elves are the purest race when they are confronted with black tongues of Mordor its like stabbing them in the heart

  • In fact what he realy says is : /cast fear

  • What's the other voice saying?

  • yay extended edition

  • The black speech of Morrrrrrrdorrrrrr may yet be heard in every corner of the West!

  • Holy Shit. Everytime i hear this i shiver all over. Gandalf is so goddamn badass

  • I love the laugh at 0:24 :)

  • When 1st time i was watching LOTR 1 director ver. I took shrooms + joint. I relaxed till When I've heard That voice, in the second plan, with gloomy and terrifying sound effects... I thought that I'm going down through hell. Sh*t! O_o

  • 0:14"hand palm":oh god not this again -_-

  • Don't fuck with Gandalf

  • I think the second deeper voice is the rings reaction to what gandalf is doing.

  • can someone explain why gandalf said that. (i know what he said i just dont know why he said it) or am i trying to look too deep into this?

  • @pietilidie Well, in the book he just reads the inscription of the ring in the original language it was written in. When Elrond kinda... points out he didn't like Gandalf's speaking that language in his home at all, Gandalf simply says he won't apologize, and that, if they don't want that language to be spoken all over the West, they should all stop doubting that the ring they have there is Sauron's one ring (some people present were questioning it) and move on with the talk.

  • @pietilidie Of course, the movie is not exactly the same as the book. I would think he did it in the movie for..dramatic effect. To impress Boromir and everyone else in that meeting who might be harboring in his heart the desire to posses the ring..to show them..."evil" at its purest, and make them understand that the ring was pure evil, etc etc etc. Like saying "okay, you noobs...do you f..cking understand now what this ring is all about or do I have to show you more?" My guess.

  • Sounds like the sensei in Concentrate by Xzibit...

  • I love it, the evil laugh at 0:24 is nice.

  • ......... why the hell did he cut out one of the most epic scenes ever?

  • Now I know what to say everytime someone comes to my door talking about religion!!! they will run the fuck away!!! XD

  • @Mesmerpoe123 Ahaha! :D

  • @Mesmerpoe123 HAHAHA you made my day!

  • We all know what gandalf said but why is this happening ..the dark sky, shaking...it seems like sauron had a connection with them because of boromir can someone explain this to me? sorry for my bad english

  • @asphyxia17 That's purely the side effect of speaking in Black Speech. It is so utterly evil that it affects the area around the person speaking it by causing the ground to tremble and the sky to go dark and can also cause pain to those closely allied to good (why Elrond and Legolas are shown to react in pain). Sauron isn't actually there in any real sense any more than he's there at any other point that the ring is shown.

  • Can someone tell me, is this scene in Extended version ?

  • @HellOwnerz yes all deleted scenes are in the extended version.

  • holy shit...... gandalf is bad-motherfucking-ass

  • why do legolas and elrond look like that at 0:16-0:18? please forgive my ignorance

  • @xCherrymistx Because of its nature as being a language of darkness (Sauron created the language himself to be used by all servants of Mordor), it has a painful effect on those that are more sensitive to darkness (evil) such as the Elves.

  • @Vlorsutes Almost true but, its was Melkor the first dark lord who invented it... AKA (morgoth)

  • @xCherrymistx the elves are sensitive to darkness and evil

  • @ClubPenguin7705 pooh that's what he's saying it's just the rest of the poem. Well that clears thing up!

  • Would love to set this as my ring tone for my cell phone. Any ideas on how?

  • He said: Ash nazg durbatulûk, ash nazg gimbatul, ash nazg thrakatulûk agh burzum-ishi krimpatul. "One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all and in the Darkness bind them." It is the inscription on the Ring itself.

  • epic

  • @Rockguitarnow I know what he's speaking I'm trying to learn it now, but why just recite the ringverse? Is it to calm down the ring or what?

  • @david12345678901dave It was to show the council members the truth about the power that the ring possess. That it's pure evil that can't be wielded by anyone other than Sauron without becoming corrupt. The language of Mordor alone is enough to drive elves, men and dwarves ill, trying to use magic of Mordor would be even worse. As for what Sauron is saying I can't say, it's too blurred and there are no subtitles but Sauron seems to be talking to Frodo as we see the lad looking at the ring.

  • he quoted twilight.

  • why does Gandalf just recite the ring verse and what is Sauron saying in the backround??? Help???

  • @david12345678901dave Gandalf was speaking the black speech of Mordor. It is a language filled with hatred and malice.

  • I love that part, shows even a Wizard has a dark side but knows when to show it. That's why he knew he couldn't take the ring. I do love how he uttered the black speech and the ring responded. Very awesome effect.

  • Why the hell is he reciting the inscription on the ring making everyone sick?

  • @0NoName9 Dark Speech is butchered Elvin. listening to it makes the elves sick. They are disgusted by it. As for the others they are scared by the power of Gandalf he is using to intimidate them like he did earlier to scare Bilbo. As for the Dark lord talking in the background I think that was added for movie flare.

  • @0NoName9 its not they they are just reciting the inscription but because they are saying it in saurons language

  • i think the ring is more powerful then sauron.

  • @gooddarkjedi A part of his soul is bound or linked to the one ring . From what I understand doing that gave him more power and a link to Middle Earth. But same time gave him a kinda weakness destroying it breaks the link and kills him.

  • @gooddarkjedi id say its more powerful because it holds saurons life and it can pursuade its barer to do what it wants

  • sounds turkish

  • ga ga gu gu

  • Is this in the extended cut? I don't remember this from the movie I saw.

  • @89macgyver Yes

  • @89macgyver Yeah, I own the extended edition and it has this part. It's annoying they cut it from the movie.

  • @Dinoross This seems like such a necessary scene...to really show and kind of foreshadow the darkness of Mordor. I can't believe they cut it out! Damn editors -.-

  • Never mess with Gandalf he'll kick your'e a**

  • burzum ftw

  • @camj4f N1 XD

  • This is what sauron says:

Three rings for the Elven-kings, under the sky; Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone, Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die, One for dark Lord on his dark throne, In the land of Mordor where the Shadows lie

  • @jeffreyvdl Where did you learn that?

  • Ash nazg durbatulûk, ash nazg gimbatul, ash nazg thrakatulûk agh burzum-ishi krimpatul

  • yeah, he says *one ring to rule them all, one ring to find them, one ring to bring them all , and in the darkness bind them*... i dont know what sauron say from behind..

  • The voice of a lord darkness.

  • behind the speech of Gandalf you can hear the voice of Sauron...

  • the voice is something i cant understand but it i can only here only one..do you know what its saying

  • i would have shit myself.

  • The Ring is obviously stronger than Sauron because Sauron put the majority of himself in it..

  • half, to be exact... )))

  • the ring is him

  • Almost sounds Germanic

  • That'll do pig, that'll do

  • @cow956

    JHONNY BRAVO 8D

  • What Gandalf say is: Ash nazg durbatulûk, ash nazg gimbatul, ash nazg thrakatulûk, agh burzum-ishi krimpatul.

Wich means: One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them

  • @THaugeland But what does Sauron say?

  • @Dinoross The same. His voice is just a little more seducing. It's the ring, reciting the writing upon itself to illustrate the aura of evil around him.

  • @THaugeland how do you know? just wondering not being an ass

  • @jaredsbling Read the book :)

  • the ring is more powerful then sauron i like to tink that the ring is acsyaly leading sauron

  • sauron created the ring in order to increase his own power and to take control of the other rings of power he tricked celebrimbor, an elvish craftsman, into making. sauron is in full control of his own ring imo, and when narsil, the only blade that could damage him, cut the ring from him, his lifeforce drained for he had attached all his power to the ring thinking it would make him indestructible, but, he underestimated the will of the Valar, didnt he?

  • in response to my own comment, yes, i am a massive tolkien fan, and damn proud of it, no, im not thirty years old living my moms basement, lmao.

  • I honestly dont think anyone watching this clip or reading your comment would care about you being a tolkien fan lolz

  • @cow956

i kinda figured that, but trolls are rampant, and anyone who hates lotr will definitely come here, beleive me

  • @generosos87 You know, now that you mention it, I've never came in contact with an Internet troll...

  • @generosos87 oO someone has read Silmarillon :D

  • @generosos87

its like a horcrux for sauron

he keeps "living" until the ring is destroyed

  • @thehumor - or the horcrux is like the ring for Sauron :\

  • I wonder what Erond was going to say before Gandalf rudely interrupted...

  • nujabez speaks mordorian!..(is that how you say it?)..wow..i can't believe...how can he know what sauron is saying!..could someone explain!

  • That's what Gandalf is saying, it's what is written on the Ring. Sauron is saying something different, but we don't know what exactly.

  • As late a reply this is..it's never discerned what Sauron, or whomever that voice belongs to, is saying.

I'm sure you could get the phonetics or whatever jotted down from listening to it enough times - but you'd then have to translate.. have fun :P

  • no it's the darkness of Sauron wich tries to corrupt evryone in that meeting

Gandalf repels the spell in time

  • Maybe he is saying the same thing. In any case, it is the Black Speech of Mordor. Sauron does know the common tongue of Middle Earth, but doesn't use it often (example when Sauron says "Build me an army worthy of Mordor" in Saruman's palantir)

  • Help!!! Can someone tell me what Sauron is saying. Contrary to popular belief, he is not saying or repeating what Gandalf is saying. I've searched and search. Someone tell me what Sauron is saying pleeease. Thanks.

  • Yeah, it's from the extended version.

    What he's saying is

Ash nazg durbatulûk, ash nazg gimbatul,

ash nazg thrakatulûk, agh burzum ishi krimpatul.

    In english, it's

One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.

  • I have never seen this before, is it from the ext. version?
