  • Hi scott,

thanks for your good works in promoting African music, i must say your efforts are not going unnoticed and you are certainly a good ambassador of Africa. We are unquestionably the best and our music tells it all. I wish to know how i can contact the Soukous Stars. Thanks again, and God bless.

  • Thank you, bellemskey, that's very kind of you to say. There are many who have appeared here on YouTube now promoting soukous...I'm happy to be playing a small role. You want Soukous Stars contact information: Write to me: scott (at) scottshuster (dot) com - ! :)

  • Awesome

  • Is there any soukous club In NJ?

  • Maybe!..There are a lot of Kenyans in the middle of the state so maybe there are some clubs that are at least African, if not specifically soukous. There is a place in Newark (Grand Avenue) called "African Stand" that is mainly a party-room available for hire - it's where we filmed some of the soukous videos here in YouTube but I don't think they have regular events. If you find out more, tell us all, here, please!!

  • @oladapo007 i dont know of purely soukous, but there is club abuja and one other that play a lot of african music.

  • Nice dance and song, I heard this song first time at african radio weekradio

  • what country is this from? this is some motherland stuff! soca and calypso HAD to have come from this!

  • UmmZeez - It's from Congo ("the DRC" for "Democratic Republic of Congo" -- formerly Zaîre). The music is "soukous" or "Congolese rumba," and it is the most popular "pop" music in Africa. This music does not get a lot of attention in America, but we are changing that here on YouTube! Search for "Soukous" and look at the videos posted by IdaMawatu and Nasipwondi. To ask questions and learn more visit the africambiance (.org) website, and click on "Musique Africaine."
