  • Very good video. A bit late but...

I've been watching some of your videos over the years and I'm long overdue to subscribe.

  • Chuck Baldwin put it very eloquently in a debate with Ralph Nader: "The lesser of two evils is the evil of two lessers."

  • Cool I don't really agree with your politics but this was a good commentary

  • hahahahah this dude is funnny

  • Why are we unable to slove our economic woes? Because God is against the prosperity of a nation that routinely slaughters 25% of it's unborn.

Woe to those who make serious moral issues disappear under the fog of politics as entertainment.

  • @lambsev

I really doubt an angry sky magician is the source of our problems.

  • @Ragedhard : And that is the difference between us, you doubt God; I trust Him.

James 1 5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. 6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. 8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

  • @lambsev SHUT UP ABOUT RELIGION YOU RETARD! Where was religion mentioned in this video? How come, without fail, when I watch a video on Youtube, be it this political rant or an old episode of Lambchops, do I have to see IDIOTS bringing up the subject of religion as if it bears some relevance to the content of the video?

"If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God"... couldn't have put it better myself.

  • @3LARI : The use of perjoratives rarely advances ones opinion.

  • @lambsev These old adages of "swearing is bad and shows a lack of knowledge" etc. are complete bollox. I'd say my comment advanced my opinion rather nicely thank you - and a hell of a lot more than your pedaling of tired old sayings advanced yours.

  • @3LARI : Voltaire expressed his opinion without perjoratives:

Another century and there will not be a Bible on earth! --Voltaire

Not only does the Bible remain a very popular best seller...

Voltaire expected that within fifty years of his lifetime there would not be one Bible in the world. His house is now a distribution center for Bibles in many languages. --Corrie Ten Boom

  • @lambsev And your point is?... Voltaire was one of the greatest philosophers of recent human history. The fact that he hoped for a time when religion would no longer cloud the judgement of the human race is damning to religion and a vindication of all those who call for its abolishment.

The fact that there are still Bibles, not just being read, but being taken LITERALLY is damning to the human race.

  • @3LARI : "damning to religion..." "damning to the human race..." ??? lol

Surely the atheist has no basis for damning anything... rotfl !!!!!!!!!!

  • @lambsev just because the word is used in the Bible doesn't bar it's use in any other context. Thinking it does is typical of the blinkered thinking of hardline religionists.

And anyway, who said I was an atheist? I would class myself loosely as an agnostic as unlike some people, I don't like to speculate wildly on things there is no way of knowing.

  • @3LARI : Please don't go to your death without seeking the truth. The truth is WORTH any effort. The truth is worth any earthly sacrifice! The truth is the only thing that sets us free.

  • I vote for who I LIKE. NO VOTE IS WASTED!

  • obama isnt benind over backwards to please the nuclear industry, you could even suggest hes bending over forwards

  • I have to agree with Noam. The majority of people will have better living conditions under a democratic presidency. Is this a lesser of two evils? Yes. Is that a bad thing? Yes. You paint a picture of perfection demanded from politicians, while advocating at the same time Ralph Nader. I love independent thinking, but the movement to go beyond a two party system needs a stronger leader than him. I was more affected by your 3:41 rant than I have been by everything I have ever heard from Nader.

  • There is no democracy in the west.

  • Comment removed

  • Very well said. It is great to see that the internet has become such an indispensable forum for clear, critical, intelligent, independent, and well developed thought. I foresee that the internet will be a major force behind the struggle to bring true power and influence to the common person. Keep up the good work!

  • It's tough for me to follow words from people that owned slaves. George Washington wasn't so morally great.

  • Correction.

We live in a Constitutional Republic.

    It's not a "representative democracy".

  • the lesser of 2 evils is still evil

  • This guy is very good, cheers

  • You can pretend that there are no differences whatsoever if you like-but there are, and they have been understood for a few decades. You can expect better supreme court justices, a better health care plan(certainly far from any great single payer system, but McCain's plan would cost millions more americans their insurance), slightly less escalation of wars and aggression, better policies for the poor and working-his planned tax policy was much better.

  • I personally would love for a Green, Libertarian, or other party(ies) to rise to national prominence-and I hope they do, through building from the ground up(local positions, then house, sentate, etc)-but if you care at all about the poor and working, or even about reality in general, then you must get off your dumbass bullshit and realize that for the majority of the voting population, the only considered choices were McCain or Obama.

  • And unless you can make a case that a McCain presidency would be favorable to that of an Obama- THEN SHUT THE FUCK UP.

  • well said

  • It starts with the people! I have spoken with a lot of folks and they either don't REALLY care or are grossly uninformed. They go by what they hear those around them saying. And too many don't want to hear both sides! Not enough critical thinkers. They would rather spend their time watching their favorite sitcom.

  • Fleetwood is connecting elitism to a party system. Elitism is, yes, a trait of the brokenness of our representative demoracy, but to resolve this problem among others tackle the education system, not the party system. In fact, the party system is an organizing mechanism to get things done for people of similar, but not necessarily juxtapose ideology.

And stop making broad demonization of coorperations when this is a nation OF COORPERATIONS. Are all coorperations bad? How unspecific.

  • Citizens of the United States need to vote in better congress members before worrying about which corporate puppet to elect.

If congress realizes you'll vote them out they'll start to serve the people more sincerely and honestly - then the electoral college will mean a little more.

One man, one vote. Abolish the electoral college and the polyarchy democracy.

    Chomsky rules but isn't perfect.

If you voted Red or Blue you are part of the problem and we'll never really get change.

  • never will the poeple change the elites they just can change channels on their tv set

  • Noam Chomsky is a very smart guy with a lot of great ideas, but damned if he doesn't say quite a bit of things that I don't agree with at all.

  • Parties are just a way to gain popular support for unpopular ideas (tack them on to other ideas like a bogus rider on a bill). What we need is to replace our "democracy" with a republic... you know, that thing that our government was designed to actually be? Maybe if Americans governed themselves within their own states, and were free to travel to the state that suited them the best, more Americans would be happier with their government.

Anti-party. Great idea, I like it.

  • I can't argue with most of the positions put forward by my comrades on the left with regard to Obama. But I supported him wholeheartedly anyway.

It remains to be seen how dedicated Obama is to a lot of his stated positions esp. on gay marriage, dedication to Israel, etc. I hope he's more progressive than his campaign rhetoric.

Maybe I'm naive, but I'm hopeful Obama is a quantum leap over other presidents especially with regard to foreign policy. Although we DO have to keep the pressure on him.

  • Americans, Americans. Get over the nation state man. It's a dying concept. You've never had a democracy and if you continue to live by an out dated constitution you never will. Internationalism is the only way forward.

  • Forgot to mention he also supports NAFTA.

A real socialist would actually do this country some good. It's a shame the few that are running have to deal with a total media blackout.

  • To the troglodyte commentators: Obama is not a "liberal", a "socialist", or a "leftist".

    He supports for-profit healthcare.

He supports the Bush Doctrine of unilateral militarism.

He supports offshore drilling & coal power.

    He supports Israel unconditionally.

By any unbiased account, the man is center-right with affinities toward Neoconservative policies like the Patriot Act (which he voted for).

Right-wingers, get over your racism and look at his voting record. He's everything you wanted.

  • I disagree that democracy is a "farce". It's far from perfect, and I'm on the verge of becoming anti-party too, but I can't agree it's a farce because:

    1. what's the alternative?

    2. One of the founding fathers said democracy is "the least bad form of govt invented". I agree.

    3. Look at the US/Europe in 1800. Standard of living, mortality rates, level of education/technology. Democracy has delivered a lot.

We must resist the impulse to say that because it isn't perfect, it has failed.

  • "what's the alternative?"

To a democracy? A constitutional republic!

"One of the founding fathers said democracy is "the least bad form of govt invented". I agree."

Jefferson said that democracy is mob rule. I agree.

  • The lesser of two evils is still evil.

  • 1. Toss it.

    2. None. He'd make life more tolerable, but it's not change. For instance, he might withdraw out of Iraq, but will he get rid of our military bases all across the world? No. Is that even considered an issue in America by most people?

    3. Yes. All votes are wasted. All votes are giving up your power to representatives.

    4. Never thought about that before. Something exotic, preferably.

    5. So, I visited the white house and it was a CLUSTERFUCK OF SHIT AND CUM AND PISS.

  • Comment removed

  • We Are SCREWED. Stock up on canned foods and shotguns. Ldlf[efijfviuhfviafuvnhfad;v

  • 1. Toss it. 2. Our president will be pretty darn good looking. 3. No, at least you feel like you did SOMETHING. 4. Hummus & tabbouleh on warm pita. 5. What word?

  • You live in Massachusetts. Vote for whoever the hell you want. It doesn't matter. Obama will take MA.

  • man if you were going to make a video like this at least clean yourself up cut your hair and shave you know i cant smell you from here but if i could from the looks of things i can say that you smell bad.

  • I'm a Kentucky Citizen voting for Ralph Nader. And frankly there is no freakin way Obama is going to carry this state. You should hear every tom dick and harry come in my store and bitch about n-word this and n-word that. "I'm not votin for no ____" I voted for Nader in '04, I meet him, he is pretty awesome.

note to Obama - I would have actually backed you had you not sold out to the nuclear and insurance agenda and had you not sold out your anti-imperialist preacher. Nader > Obama

  • harikus: I guess it isn't possible that Obama will lose Kentucky because he's the most far Left candidate to run since George McGovern? That has nothing to do with it, right? You think it's just because he's black.

And you think Wright is an anti-imperialist? Wow! What a stretch. I can assure you, the most aggressive imperialists in the 20th century were the totalitarianist regimes (nazis, soviets, etc.)...and Wright is nothing if not a closet totalitarianist (black separatist/marxist).

  • I have to post this though it has nothing to do only because I saw a few comments bellow me some anti-communist propaganda.

Are people still so ignorant and behind the times to be afraid of communism?

Are these people still watching black and white TV sets and using a can opener to open their beers?

Are we so afraid that people will choose communism over democracy because in reality we don't have a democracy, just a welfare clusterfuck government for the rich elite?

  • crish: After about 5,000 vid views and maybe 2,500 posts I've concluded there are three "types" I despise:

    1. retrograde marxists (closet totalitariansts who think market economies have "failed").

    2. conspiracy theorists.

    3. low IQ people with poor logic skills.

Your comment sounds like that of a retrograde marxist. let me know if you are, so I can tear you a new one. Although I'm probably wasting my time as I've found the overwhelming majority of marxists also suffer from #3 above.

  • 1. toss E.C. for a district by district college kinda thing

    2. Change-esque to a more socialism type thing. We shall see.

    3. Yes, a vote for frank zappa my pet feret is a wasted vote. A vote for Nadar isn't

    4.chicken salad

    5. The debate system is one big clusterfuck.

  • you barely scratch the surface,

of course the electoral college is an archaic outdated system, no point in a 3rd party candidate until there is preferential/instant runoff voting.

    geographic districts are also bullshit.

An Alaskans senate vote should not be worth 50 times more a Californians.

  • I'm pretty sure NOT-COMMUNIST is the lesser of 2 evils.

  • Before people start wielding Founding Fathers quotes to try to defend the original intent you must remember that the system of "winning take all" set forth by these wise men is what is ultimately at fault. I have always said that to say we have the oldest modern democracy on the face of the Earth is also to admit we have the most antiquated and that "representative" democracy is not very representative when 51% is as good as 100% in our system. Parliamentary systems don't function that way. Why?

  • I live in Utah. (I know) It sucks here. My vote doesn't count. This state always goes red. So to answer your question. Is any vote a wasted vote? Yes. Of course. This is America.

  • Toss the electoral college. We need more parties without sacrificing minority rights (hell, let's adopt Lebanon's system). I'm going for Obama, because I think he will bring SOME real change; no to dumb wars (I'm a pacifist, so I'll work with what I can get), corporate accountability (more than most other major candidates), etc. But I do agree much more with Nader and McKinney, and would support them if I didn't live in a swing state.

  • Yes so go ahead and vote for the clusterfuck Obama..The one who has no clear exit strategy

from Iraq, wants to send more troops to Afghanistan, says Iran is a serious threat, wants to invade on the ground in Pakistan, and last but not least; has no clear vision of a peace plan between Israel and Palestinians...no vision at all for peace in the Middle East...nothing,nada,nicht...Jesus..STOP THE DAMN WAR!!!

  • i agree 100% with the speaker. i won't complain if obama wins, but ron paul or nader would be a dream come true.

  • omg omg they get Ralph Nader!

  • 1. Throw it out, but consider what happens when stupid brainwashed people actually get a vote that counts.

    2. Nada, nothing, zilch. Don't fall for the trap people ...look at his voting record and the damage done.

    3. Yes, when you vote for something or someone that you don't truly feel deserves it. You votes represent your voice. Be heard. Dissent.

    4. Me between two hot blonds.

    5. By voting for one of the corporate parties, your silent participation allows the clusterfuck to fester.

  • "1. Throw it out, but consider what happens when stupid brainwashed people actually get a vote that counts."

Well that already happens of course...plus there are those that talk to the mom and then the other mom and then the other mom whose husband repeated something he think he heard off of mainstream media

  • I totally agree.

  • 1. Toss

    2. Not much the damage has been done.

    3. It's like voting for your favorite business, oh joy!

    4. The Reuben or Po Boy, the latter becoming the staple.

    5. The word is out.

  • FYI, Barbara Bush & Ann Cappelletti are illegitimate daughters of Aleister Crowley, 666, the beast, baphomet, author of illuminati rituals. Google, Barbara Bush Aleister Crowley.

Ann & Barb got together in 1980 to use THE CRAFT to get the Bushes into WH.

witches John, Ann Cappelletti have learned that Betty has been having an affair w Arnold for the last 6-8 yrs. They plan to eliminate her or at least maim her so that she can't get 1/2 of John's property in the divorce. Please warn Betty.

  • A very weak introduction by Nader. Did he have a couple drinks before that one?

  • davis, all dogs go to heaven, but you are not a dog.

  • iTell,

The Illuminati existed in the 18th century.

Unless there's some evidence that they still exist, I'm not going to worry about them.

I had dinner with my parents last summer. We didn't tell anyone. That doesn't make our dinner a conspiracy to take over the world and create one world government. We had chicken.

  • Chicken is good.

  • What if a good man ran for President?

    youtube . com/watch?v=gdJ7Ad15WCA

  • 1. Throw it

    2. Thats basically how he hopes to win. Hoodwinking Americans.

    3.With electoral colledges, yeah

    4. Pastrami

  • A vote for McKinney is a vote for McCain.

    Pass it on.

  • "A vote for McKinney is a vote for McCain." NO!

did you listen to davis, at all...for those who live in a blue state that hate obama should vote 3rd party and those that live in a red state that hate mcCain should vote 3rd party.

  • The only reason I wouldn't vote for McKinney is that Nader is running. McKinney is my second choice though.

  • McKinney grew up an active in her community-went on to serve at least 10 yrs as a member of congress-Nader was buddied in the white house for a while & has enough support to make a difference in congress but has chosen that path instead-McKinney was the 1st to tell the truth about 9/11 & was crucified for it.She actually served the people.Nader is an advocate. But serving the people & not corporations trumps his accomplishments b/c she was in a position of power(vote) & compromised her life 4 it

  • It depends on why you're voting for Nader/McKinney. I'm sure McKinney would make a much better President because of her experience, but I'm not supporting Nader because I think he would be a good President. Throughout all 3 of his campaigns, he has claimed to be the "tugboat" candidate, attempting to pull the Democrats in a more progressive direction. His history of taking on corporations has meant that he is extremely effective at taking on the two corporate parties.

  • Was that last part a Fight Club quote? He sounded like Tyler Durden.

  • You should see what nybooks . com is recommending.

  • How can we convince President Obama to work with American families to give families what we want, and what we need, if we don't -know- what we want and what we need?

    I need me some peace.

    But then what?

  • º¤ø„¸¸„ø¤º°¨ „ø¤º°¨

    ¸„ø¤º°¨Nader ``°º¤ø„¸

    ø¤º°¨¸„ø¤º°¨¨°º¤ø„¸¨°º¤ø

  • Will McCain or Obama repeal the Patriot Act? I think not.

  • to all circle jerks out there...

WHAT TIME IS IT? AND TO ALL CORPORATE SHILLS STUCK IN SEIZING CONTROL OF US POLICY IN SLOW MOTION COUP

    REJOICE!!!!!

    W T F

    ,

  • 1. Toss

    2. I don't believe he will bring any real change, he's working for the same people. The only thing that will be different is, it will take longer for people to notice nothing has changed. And we'll have a war with Iran...

We were never at war with Eurasa we have always been at war with Estasia...

    3. Any vote wasted? No. We can vote for legislation, and representatives.

    4. Pastrami on Rye with mustard.

5.This election cycle has been the most shameful clusterfuck I've seen in my life.

  • My hope for the future is Instant Runoff Voting. It would fracture the existing political parties but make all of them more effective in presenting its members' views. I enjoy the dilusion that Obama, the community organizer, would be more likely to support IRV than McCain, loyal Republican.

  • OK HISTORY REPEATED, DO YOU ALL SEE WHERE THIS IS GOING, IF I HAVE A GOD IM AN ASSHOLE SO SAYS SUNFLOWER1997 BUT FOR THIS PIG OBAMA TO PERSUADE SO MANY THERE MUST BE SOME KOOLAID IN THE WATER YOU DEMS BELEIVE THIS GUY IS THE ANSWER TO THE COUNTRYS PROBLEMS, HE SHOUD GET AN OSCAR FOR HIS PERFORMANCE Obama is a three-year senator without a single important legislative achievement AND CLEAR TIES TO VOTER FRUAD, RADICALS ANTI AMERICANS,AND CORUPTION. ENOUGH SAID

  • PHXNATIVE

Wake the fuck up. Fleetwood is not preaching Obama. You are right- Obama is a joke. McCain is the Apocolypse waiting to happen.

And yes, your mind is small, and requires the crutch or religion. We will all be free when your kind is extinct.

  • sunflower1997 how ironic, you call yourself THAT not even close! with a potty mouth my vietnam vet friends would envy !!you probally like that because the filth you spill out of that mouth. I think you are 11 years old? take some of the anger you have for people who have faith and put it to work doing something besides condemening someone's faith just dont vote please, my faith is not a crutch as you assume. pea brains like you destroys the moral values, god have mercy on your soul.

  • sound fucked, video good

  • We're all clusterfucked!

  • Chomsky said the same crap in 2004 urging safe states to vote Kerry. I used to like Chomsky until he sold out- funny how he praises critical thought and spoke against the 2-party dupoly. I live in VA and voted for Nader in 200,2004 & this week in 2008! I am voting for what I really want rather than candidate (Obama) the corporate media seems to be cramming down everyone's throat!

  • good stuff. i'm voting for bob barr.

i do think that you need to talk more fluently and not like a dude on a speed trip lol

  • 1. Not sure

    2. Obama seems to have class. That's a change. I think he supports AIPAC because he HAS to or his political career would not exist. Maybe he'll decide to flip-flop once he gets in.

    3. I'm not up to rolling the dice with THIS election.

    4. PB&J

    5. I can't wait until that cluster fucker Bush moves back to his Ranch in Texas. I wish we could ship him off to Iraq!

  • I dunno Davis, I'm leaning towards the men in tights platform myself. Men in boxers and sock suspenders just haven't been doing it lately...

  • dissolve the entire federal government and start over using just the constitution with its amendments

  • And the church said....Amen.

  • Chomsky when asked during the primaries whether he would back Ron Paul over Hillary shockingly replied 'NO' citing Paul's economic views.

I have since purged Chomsky from my bookshelves and unsubscribed from ZNet.

  • "To know and not to act, is not to know at all!" or "Knowledge is power - ONLY when it's used!".

Those who are in the know...will vote NADER.

Those who are ignorant enough to let the media brain wash them... will vote for the McCain/Obama Corporate Duapoly...

  • The electoral college is nothing more than safety net of the power elite, to never relinqush their control.

So, god forbit, if the people start rebeling, and in droves voting for RALPH NADER!!!

They would use the electoral college to claim a win fo one of their 2 candidates (now it's McCain and Obama)- next election it will be 2 other puppets... etc...

"The Rich get Richer, and that's the LAW OF THE LAND!"

  • !. abolish the electoral college, common sense says a president should win the largest number of individual votes, that's how every other contest works!

    2. Well I try to tell myself that, we will have people more involved in the system, but then I think well if Obama does win if he doesn't rally up the people, they will keep acting like they did their job at the polls and they don't need to remain aware and informed on the issues, so I am hoping that Obama will rally the people to stay involved

  • the change i will get is how my crisper greens turn to silver and bronze

  • Evil sucks worse than anything. in all of it's incarnations!

That's why I want Nader to Count the votes. He's about the only that's still trustworthy of this nation's public figures.

He'd be honest on the ballot count even though he is running.

    That's how scrupulous he is.

    Nader Now!

    (Better late than never..)

  • I dislike that after the primaries it seemed that no one discussed the possibility of voting for anyone else besides a Republican or a Democrat.

  • It's highly offensive don't you think. I mean they act like we have the free will to choose, then they forget to tell us our choices.

  • Think for ourselves!? OH NOS!!

  • 1. The college is bunk, we have the technology to count a popular vote precisely.

    2. Obama will bring some change, but not all of will be good. Lesser of two evils is still evil.

    3. Votes are wasted when people just chose a name or vote straight ticket.

    4. Italian Sub from my work. House Of Pizza, Belton, SC.

    5. This elections, and our government is one big clusterfuck! nuff said.

  • 1 toss, though the people are not as informed as they should be they do have a right to decide, if the people screw us over we have no one to blame but our selves

2 he will be black he will be shot. that's the only real change

3 not any vote; but meany votes are wasted

4 peanut better and jelly i dont think it can be put in to words how amazing they are. those reading this should try to understand there shear awesomeness

    5. hopefully the current election wont be a complete CLUSTERFUCK

  • i disagree that people should vote for the lesser of two evils in close states.

i think people should Vote for Ralph Nader in every state!

  • Great Video man!, I love the last part about letting the corporations tell everyone what to think and dictate the terms of debate, WAKE UP people!

    J.

  • I had this sent to me buy my 29 year old son I 51 white boy clinging to my gun and god obama is like the new coke, its not the REAL THING, HE'S A SNAKE CHARMER, HIS WORDS ARE LIES AND MCAIN WELL HE IS THE BETTER OF 2 EVILS, AND I DONT AGREE WITH HIM COMPLETLY I AM AN INDEPENDANT I VOTED FOR MACAIN you make a good case about 3rd party but at this point in our system your throwing your vote away,I'll take my chances with experience,OBAMA IS THE THE ANTI-CHRIST BE AFRAID VERY AFRAID

  • phnxnative1

OK- it begins and end with your ignoramous remark: "OBAMA IS THE ANTI CHRIST".. listen douchbag: belief in your fucking bible- while seen as a private decision by others- is in fact killing us all.

    GOD IS A JOKE.

THE BIBLE IS A LIE, made up by men 100's of years after JC died in order to use FEAR TO CONTROL US.

Obama does suck, but the ANTI CHRIST?

Religious faith is the sign of a small mind. Weak, fearful. Wake up asshole

  • HEY PHXNATIVE: GOD IS A JOKE.

THE BIBLE IS A LIE, made up by men 100's of years after JC died in order to use FEAR TO CONTROL US.

Obama does suck, but the ANTI CHRIST?

Religious faith is the sign of a small mind. Weak, fearful. Wake up asshole

  • 1.) Toss.

2.) Change in the form of.. uh.. change?

3.) No wasted votes. The vote makes us feel like we really have a say... don't we?

4.) Peanut butter on fresh white bread...mmm.

5.) McCain's been clusterfucked so many times, he can't even say the word "cut" without adding an "n".

  • 1 Electoral Collage is it working ? if not get rid.

2 Will Obama bring Change? Yes in image but not sure about content. But better than McCain he's just angry.

    3 No vote is wasted.

4 Made with Natural ingredients and no processed cheese!!!

5 Clusterfuck would be seen as interference in the democratic process in my view, No party supporters or officials should be with-in view of Polling places.

Have fun on Polling night with friends place bets on how many legal battles will take place.

  • Why is everyone afraid of Obama. Let's give Marxism a chance. Maybe it will work this time.

  • Chomsky is an "intelligent" man, but he doesn't accept that 911 was an inside job!

Not all that intelligent then, really!

The lesser of 2 Evils once meant deciding between Hitler or Stalin!!!!!!!

    Eeny Meeny, Miny Moe..............

    Plus ca change! (Nothing changes)

  • Ok. Hitler was German and Stalin was Russian ok. And Chomsky said it didn't matter, not that it wasn't true. ok. :P

  • 1) Toss

    2) Although I don't support him, I think he would bring a better image of the US abroad. I also think he would improve our relationships with foreign governments (especially those the Bush administration has had trouble with).

    3) No

    4) I'm a big fan of ham and white American cheese on toasted whole wheat.

    5) I seriously hope that when I go to the polls on Nov 4 that there isn't some giant clusterfuck of senior citizens in the way since I will be going first thing in the morning.

  • Chomsky has been such a pull-over. Throughout his life he's mainly played softball.

  • Thank you.

  • On lingu matters I may agree with Choms

    I vote Nader

  • Love ur work

  • How cool that you got Nader to do your intro...almost as cool as Dawkins doing my tag line!

Interesting points and I won't say that I disagree with you...however, there is no third party candidate that is "legitimate" this time around....the ONLY time that occurred in my lifetime was with Ross Perot...and he screwed that up for the rest of them with his antics. I wish there was a strong third party...sadly, there isn't.

  • 1> Toss(but replace with what?)

    2> Nothing worth pointing out

    3> Yes, see question 1

    4> Taylor ham and cheese

5> The US economy has been a clusterfuck since we adopted the Fed.

  • People all ways claim americas elite serve the coporatinos ive never really seen any strong evidence of this.

  • oooooooooooooookay......

  • 1. Electoral? Toss.. also throw out the diebold in the same trash pile.

    2. Obama == CFR. He's already pulled in Brzezinski as his adviser. He's merely a pawn for the rich elite and will help to further their agenda.

    3. People have a right to vote for who they want. Personally I want to call all of those who vote for a D or R a wasted vote, but that is just pots and kettles since I'm voting 3rd party. Go NadeR!

    4. Hot ham and cheese.

    5. The word is yo missing, dawg. ((ya, weak))

  • If you learn nothing else about Obama, learn this: This campaign is not about Obama. It is about the people being inspired and getting involved for the first time, or the first time in a long time. People like me. He is our candidate, but it is our movement, the likes of which has never been seen before, which will make a difference in this country. It's not a top down approach, and as Nader would probably agree, change comes from the grass-roots up! Peace.

  • I like a breaded chicken breast on kaiser roll with BLT, ranch dressing and sweet peppers. Salt, pepper and aregano to taste. Mmmmmmmm

Someone saying, "your wasting your vote" only means they don't see the value in it. It isn't a bet. It's a vote.

  • Vote progressive. Vote for change. Vote Nader.

  • This is why I like Davis F. He's not one those sheeple that vote for Obama because "Obama means Change". Noam Chomsky said about Obama "all the elevated retoric about the change and hope will dissolve into standard centrist Democrat policies soon as... if he takes office". But I guess even those who vote for Obama are as "religulous" as those who vote McCain for "religulous" reasons, they need a Messiah. Sheeple!

  • Oh yes... and just to clarify. I'm not a McCain supporter either.

  • ELECTORAL COLLEGE SHOULD BE REFORMED< BUT KEPT.

If we had a direct popular vote, candidates would never campaign outside of metropolitan areas.

We may be cousin fucking, corn growing rednecks, but we're taking the corporate cock in the ass just as hard out here.

And we don't want you pussified city-dwelling liberals to tell us we can't hunt for food to eat.

Your factory farms and delicatessens are far more brutal and cruel.

  • Hey we have squirrel here in the city too. And lots of city chicken.

  • trich, I would like to hear more about reforming the EC. You have a good point about it making politicians more accountable, or at least aware of the needs of smaller constituencies, when they campaign. So I am interested in learning about ideas of how it could be reformed to be more fair to everybody.

Some form of proportional representation would also do the trick I would think. There could be a Rural Party or something, with a voice in a proportional representation system.

  • there is some change in pocket!

    Cynthia McKinney! Chuck Baldwin!

  • Why the hell would you promote both McKinney and Baldwin? They are both polar opposites.

  • TiradeFaction: I love Cynthia Mckinney but I am pro-life...and I cynthia is my first choice, baldwin, my second...nader third, bob barr, 4th...then mmmm...don't votE? who knows

  • I have a phrase I like to use for the American people .

People remind me of Jack Asses. You have your followers and your leaders. Problem is we have very few leaders.

When I make that statement, my reference is that the American people are not thinking they are simply following without question. Even Obama and McCain are followers. They aren't leading. They are following Corporate rule. There is such a lack of leadership that it is scaring the hell out of me!

Nader is a True Leader and Hero!

  • Davis- having just watched the Chomsky interview, to be fair, Chomsky also implied that there was nothing wrong with voting for the Green (or Independant uber-green) candidate. As far as the difference between the candidates goes, using my own analogy to paraphrase what Chomsky said, it depends how zoomed in you are with your political spectrum microscope. If you wanna include Nader in your frame, Obama and McCain will surely look like two fleas humping in a sea of corporate lobby donations.

  • Excellent video as usual. While I don't blame people for succumbing to the lesser of two evils mentality given our culture rams it up our asses, I think if TRNN, Chomsky and such were aware or promoted that it only makes sense for swing state voters who want to partake in the elections in that fashion, we'd have a more realistic chance for third parties to have some influence in the future, and it's time for us to have another third party influence American politics like they have in the past.

  • no they don't ram it up our asses as you put it TiradeFaction, but infact, they choose to distract us with infotainment, like Palin's unmarried daughter pregnant, or Obama's Pastor, or McCain's age, or Obama's wife stating that it was the first time that she was proud of her country...all distractions from real issues that people what heard but people resign themselves to allowing it to be okay that injustices continue and vote for CORPORATIONs instead of voting for people

  • Well culturally they do promote the idea of "lesser of two evils" because then it psychologically people believe they have little choice in the matter, classic example of massive cultural propaganda. And...you don't have to be so aggressive with me, did I say anything that warranted any anger from you? And yes, the American mainstream media is full of distortions and distractions, CNN's days long coverage of Anna Nichole Smith's death is a sure indicator of that...

  • TiradeFaction:first, my voice is of no anger, in that posting. If you heard me speak it, you wouldn't have said that.Second, No they don't promote the lesser of two evils, they promote ill-informed by distracting people from issues like Anna Smith-(maybe if we keep their mind off the war & other important issues, we will have less oppositin)GO profits!

  • You're claiming the media DOESN'T prompt the idea of voting for the lesser of two evils? Interesting...I see it in the media all the time. Fuck, that's what this video is discussing.......

  • One of the BEST videos yet. I'm digging it.

  • 1. Toss it

    2. I don't see how he will be much different than any previous president.

    3. Depends on your situation, location, and how you apply it. A vote for McCain and Obama in solid states can indeed be "wasted votes". ;).

    5. It is better not to speak the word, but to speak around it and make other people wonder what's up...

  • Fuck all those stupid intellectuals like Chomsky, they can suck my motherfucking fat and thick Nader voting dick!

  • Davis, what did you think of the interview with Zinn on The Real News Network regarding his views towards independent candidates like Nader?

  • GREAT.

  • You are not wasting your vote when you vote for Ralph Nader because it means that you are voting for yourself. A vote for Ralph Nader is a vote for the American people. It is a vote for you, me, and U.S. Vote Nader/Gonzalez '08.

    4. peanut butter and banana fried, Also Elvis' fav.

    5. people who vote for the "lesser of two evils" are voting for a clusterfuck.

  • iTellYouNoLie,

Obama's concept of civilian national service is that people should be able to serve their country without carrying a gun, say, as teachers, or in programs like the Peace Corps.

Stop being afraid just because he's black.

  • I'm voting for mckinney or nader, I'm not afraid of him because he's black, I've got plenty of other reasons to fear an obama presidency, the same reasons I fear a McCain presidency, they both want more war, neither will prosecute the wall street criminals, neither will stand up to pharmaceutical companies, neither will stand up for medicinal marijuana, and they both don't mind the idea of a draft. not to mention the expansion of presidential power over commerce.

  • iTellYou,

Look at his life. He's a community organizer. He's not a right-wing loonie neocon militarist and you know it.

He wants to fix Social Security and Medicare and provide affordable health care and quality education. He's the most progressive human being in the Senate, as they never get tired of telling us.

Why oppose him? Are you secretly supporting McCain? Come clean.

  • watch my movie, you'll undertand

    watch?v=BbvmW3yjFtg

  • He's not a community organizer ReliableInsider, he had that position 15 years ago.

  • Playing the race card: a typical Obama-maniac technique.

  • I shall counter your anti race card with a gender card.

    Bros before hoes

    Obama '08

    (See what I did there?)

  • Clinton isn't running anymore. And I'm not a McCain or Palin supporter, or a supporter of any warmongers for that matter.

  • "Playing the race: a typical Obama-maniac technique"

As a black person, the only "black" person that I would like to represent me that is running for president is Cynthia McKinney Obama is half white! he has a temper/tude and I wish that he would go away! Not that McCain is better but oh yeah from the beginning of the election, McCains views haven't changed, Obama on the other hand
