No. You don't need to sew the edges if you are using the correct yarn.

I am too new at all this to know what a steek is, but good grief, you cut into that gorgeous knit work - and it wasn't felted, either!

well done, it if beautiful, what is it going to be? I am in the process of completing a baby blanket that was steeked. I've knitted a facing over the edges - what will you do? have you got a blog? mine comes up if you google knitknitfrog
